I'm happy to report that I found some time to give http://www.bitcoinmonitor.com a new look! I also updated a few other things. The website now uses the trade data from bitcoincharts.com (great service, thx tcatm!). Some of you also requested the feature of being able to zoom into the data, and I implemented a simple variation of that, hope you like it. Donations always appreciated! :-)

LOL, What's with the IBM PS/2? Cheesy

A bug report: the graph flickers in Opera.

I know this because Tyler knows this.

Very cool. Gj.

Hello Jan,
Thank you for this very useful site.  I have used it for a long time and I have always found it very helpful.  One of those "does one thing and does it well" websites.
I've had just one idea for a slight improvement that I wanted to share with you:
You know how when you mouse hover over the data points, it gives you a little more information?  I thought it would be useful when hovering over the yellow "block" data points if it could give you the block number of that new block.  For both the blue transaction points and the red trade points, it gives you some quite useful extra information with the mouse hover.  The yellow block hovers don't really tell you anything useful, except that 50 new bitcoins were generated, which we probably already know.  As far as I can tell, there is currently no way to gather the current block count from your site.  You probably already have the data to make this small change, it would make your chart slightly more useful, and would save everybody the trouble of opening yet another page to get the current block count.  Of course there are other sites to see the current block count, but sometimes I would find it useful to see visually when a certain block number was generated.
Just my 2 bitcents...    Wink
Thanks again and I love your site.

Thx for the kind words!

I thought it would be useful when hovering over the yellow "block" data points if it could give you the block number of that new block.

That's a good idea! Unfortunately with the current state of my backend I don't actually have easy access to this information. I'm thinking of restructuring the backend at some point in the future and will keep this idea in mind, thanks!

Nice update, although the image of the ancient piece of electronic device you put there on the header doesn't look all that great.

Maybe I'm getting old or whatever, but I think the older design looked better.

Why 1/3 of screen is some old computer? The height of graph is not smaller than it was. Please, gimme a link to old desing! .. Smiley

Mesmerizing stuff. Maybe change dot size accordingly to size of deal ? And notes blinking in uncomfortable way, when cursor is hoovered. Maybe that just on my PC.
