MN is up and running  Grin

SHOW ME THE MONEY

Edit: am I good to go or am I missing something still? http://neutron.blockview.space/address/9gtbKMhhtdRY8WYHvPazwgkuxPg7kitU5R

Also, can someone verify if it IS my public IP (i.e. from whatsmyip.com) or if it IS NOT (i.e. my internal computer IP on my network). I've read conflicting information in this thread so far.  It was connecting when it was my internal network IP but when I use my public IP and try to "masternode start" I get the error:  Could not connect to 172.251.xx.xx:9999
seems you have a problem with your dynamic IP. Every time you boot your PC or your provider disconnects you (normally 1 time per night) your IP changes. Retry whatsmyip.com again and compare with data from your neutron.conf, than restart wallet, unlock and type masternode start again

Ok checked IP again from whatismyip.com, and it is the same as what is in my Neutron.conf

I'll send funds to a new address in wallet and try setting up MN again from scratch with new genkey, etc and see if that clears up the issue. Thanks for the on-point response.
Did you open your port in router?
Usually this error comes with port errors.
You can also try different ports, just to be sure.

I got it up and running. Closed the wallet, backed up the wallet.dat. Deleted the conf. Reopened Wallet, created new address. Closed wallet. Sent another 25k I had at the exchange to a new address in the wallet.
Created new .conf with info from instructions with IP from Whatsmyip.com Reopened wallet, did masternode start, and everything started up.

Now, this is where things get weird:
Transactions so far:25k deposit+142 coins staked+25K deposit+2k "mined" by masternode=52,142...
MN has been running for over 24 hours now. According to the transactions in the wallet, I have "mined" approx 2,000 new coins with my masternode address; However, my balance is only showing 50,523.

Am I missing something?

i guess we'r all missing smth....
in my wallet all staking transactions show ~38 coins per tx,
which is sheer crap, actually most of them add ~13 to balance, and some ~38, without masternode

What are you missing?
1 block is worth ~38 coins.  2/3 goes to masternode = ~25coins, 1/3 goes to the staking address = ~13coins.

If you thought you had a masternode and only have a series of 13 coin rewards then you already staked your masternode input and invalidates it as a MN input.  to get back MN regroup and send 25000 exact in one input to a new MN address.

probably i didn't explain clear enough.
1) i don't have a masternode, nevertheless some of my tx add full 38 coins to balance, not 1/3 (13), or 2/3,
(which probably means some masternode out there gets nothin of that tx)
2) wallet's tx list shows all of them as 38, despite some actually give 13 and some 38 coins, which is simply misguiding

examples

this one goes as you described, 25.3940676 for MN and the rest for me:

and this one is all mine:

masternodes, u-huh  Roll Eyes

https://dashtalk.org/threads/masternode-payment-question-not-all-blocks-have-mn-payment.3759/

Safer to not have it enforced for now.  Maybe the dev will update using latest dash code in future when there are more MNs. PoS coins with MNs - 007, 8BIT, CRAVE, SLING, NANAS, SKB, SHELL etc are all 6 months behind the latest DASH, and are probably waiting for original PoS coin with MN (sling? crave?) to do the work needed before they clone it.

So...i have a masternode...and my transactions show I'm getting payments...but I don't really get those payments?

I'm sorry, whats the point of MN then? I should have made a couple thousand coins by now, yet they're nowhere to be found. Someone enlighten me, please.

You are getting payments for masternode. You have not set up MN correctly and probably staking only.   25000 exact to MN address and disable staking in wallet used for Masternode.  If your staking then you will get less then with masternodes.  I'm have been getting ~1000 daily from MN, but it decreases as more MNs come online.

You are getting payments for masternode. That's what I'm saying is strange. I did set it up properly according to the instructions on this thread:

Here's my .conf:

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=netneutron
rpcpassword=password
server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
staking=0
port=9999
masternode=1
masternodeaddr=172.251.xx.xx:9999
masternodeprivkey=(removed key for post but its there)

Sent EXACTLY 25k to wallet address (well 25,000.02 so 25k exactly would hit address).

Waited for 15 confirmations

genkey command
closed wallet
created conf
opened wallet
masternode start

(masternode started successfully)

then after 2 days of showing that I was getting payments ranging from 75 - 300 NTRN every few hours I realized that my balance was not updating with these numbers.

Closed wallet, reopen:

12:43:25

masternode start

12:43:25

successfully started masternode

12:43:30

masternode list

12:43:30

{
"172.251.xx.xx:9999" : 1
}

But issue still continues

Just trying to figure out where the issue is.

Thanks

9gtbKMhhtdRY8WYHvPazwgkuxPg7kitU5R This is address staked and does not have a 25000 input anymore so will not work as an MN.  You can see in block explorer it is the first thing that happened after you sent 25000 to it, so it never would have worked as MN.  important to disable staking or set reserve balance 9999999 so nothing is staked.  25K input will stake very fast (within a day), so if you want keep MN functioning staking should be disabled so it doesnt interfere and disable the MN.
http://neutron.blockview.space/tx/a6f5c248207dce1ce4495ec4d48416864c66c1f25fbb4bfda25689dc22153b13

9pRj6xxcpsvP2mF5D1oynVuEpXRHsNUTsr is a pefectly working MN from what i can see on block explorer, you are getting paid for it.
I can see it in the masternode list
http://neutron.blockview.space/address/9pRj6xxcpsvP2mF5D1oynVuEpXRHsNUTsr

but it seems you are confused about what you get a block, MN payment is always ~25coins, you will never get more than that. the number you see in wallet is the value of all the transactions that were in that block, not what you get paid. eg if someone send 10,000 coins, someone stakes 2000 coins, you would see ~12038coins, and if you look in the details or on block explorer it will show your MN getting 25coins. If you restart walletqt the displayed amount on those mined blocks will correct to show only the MN payout ~25coins.  Its confusing and maybe a visual bug to be fixed by dev, but you are getting everything, nothing is lost or missing Smiley
