SERVICENODES
A servicenode is a node which runs continuously (24/7) on a server and which provides services within the spreadcoin network.

You have to pay a collateral to be able to install a servernode (in return your servicenode will earn a steady income).

This collateral is determined by a free market price discovery.

(No fix collateral. The price is allowed to fluctuate over time.)

what do i need for this?

apparently if you own x amount of spread then you will receive x amount of helium around august 1st.
 this probably will change due to the bitcoin segwit48  thingy (or wtf its called)happening around same time.
helium snapshot/ air drop 1 to 1  for all spreadcoin holders
and you keep your spread... yay!!
And with 1000 helium you can  run a helium  masternode thingy ( that's  like an extra special mining thingy)
don't even ask me what a servicenode thingy is . haven't figured it out yet....... (i'm working on it)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.msg18021099#msg18021099

yeah i know all of that. thats the reason why im here but if i have spreadcoin too i will run a servicenode if its possible Wink

Yes, on the website of spreadcoin talks about the masternode, you need at least 100 spreadcoin and have a pc with decent hardware, because I think there is a qualification in the transactions, I also did the same question here but nobody answered, just focus on Hellium

I can't seem to get Spreadcoin mining to work.
I have tried both the v0.1r2 and v0.1r3 version of the spreadcoin miner.

My setup: 5x GTX 1070 and Pentium G4400 @ 3.3ghz. Drivers are updated.
Bat file is edited with the same username and pass as the .conf file:

spreadminer -o http://127.0.0.1:41677 -u MYNAME -p MYPASS

Wallet is fully synced, .conf file in /AppData/Spreadcoin:

rpcuser=MYNAME
rpcpassword=MYPASS
rpcport=41677
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
listen=1

In v0.1r2 I only get Booo's:
http://imgur.com/a/b8nvx

In v0.1r3 I get Does not validate with CPU:
http://imgur.com/a/xvYuy

I dont understand because I have been solo mining other coins without problems, ccminer included.
Could anyone please help me? I have been trying all day.

Thanks.

first ...
why is the name of the conf file Spreadcoin.conf instead of spreadcoin.conf? ...

is that a windows thing for caps? ...

second ...
rpcallowip is for allowing only the ip addresses ...

you need to connect to that address first ( the daemon does anyway ) - and then tell the daemon which ips are allowed ...

so if your network sits on 192.168.0.25 for example - the rpc section of the conf should look like this ...

Code:
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*

hope this helps ...

Guys is this coin actually still under active development of any kind?

The website has old outdated links and information that's a year old. No one uses the IRC chat. Is there a Slack or Reddit with more activity or is all the activity right here in this BCT thread?

Forgive any ignorance. As you can see by the label under my name at the time of this posting... I am still a newbie.

They are at least 100, that says the web, but the best would be 1000 spread

Could you provide a link to this MasterNode concept with to the SpreadCoin site, please? All I can find is an upcoming  feature about service nodes (upcoming for a few years now) but the collateral is not set, nothing about the 100 SPR.

I have bought several thousand for the Helium snapshot, I would be happy if I can use my SPR for something useful too.

The conf file is not with any capital letters, it's the map. Like this: /AppData/SpreadCoin/spreadcoin.conf
And yes I'm on windows.

I edited the conf with your commands but no luck (checked the network address with ipconfig). Restarted the wallet too.
On v0.1v3 I get: does not validate on cpu: http://imgur.com/a/uCKQk
Someone told me it's the high intensity, tried lowering and increasing -x command in .bat, but also no bueno.

I'm about to throw in the towel, been trying for 2 days straight. But if anyone has a fix, I'll try.
Thanks for your help though crysx.

is this spreadminer-spmod? ...

if so - he was saying he has some issues with the nvidia driver ... a driver rollback might help - or update to the latest driver which seems to have fixed the bug ...

but you ARE mining to the wallet with that result - just not validating ... thats all ...

we tried to get in touch with ocminer - to do a deal for our miner which works flawlessly - but no response from him ...

either way - those results mean you are mining to the local wallet - but they are bad shares ... otherwise you would have received a different error about connection ...
so you are half way there ...

To you AMD miners, what would be the correct command to use to mine to a wallet that's not on smart PC as the GPUs?

I already have the wallet config setup right but for sgminer how do.i specify the IP and rpc login info?

if you want to mine not locally you need to add this to your config file, rpcallowip=192.168.1.* or another form of ip rotation is /255 i think but i don't remember it now, if you want to mine with more than 4 pc to a single wallet you need to add a command see above

hey guys just started trying to mine some spread.  Does the spreadminer show indications of blocks?  I'm used to seeing those appear with ccminer.

I'm seeing hash go down but it doesn't give much else in info. Wanted to make sure its working correctly before i let this run all day.

Code:
[2017-07-17 10:51:13] 1 miner threads started, using 'spreadx11' algorithm.
[2017-07-17 10:51:13] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1080, 3234 khash/s
[2017-07-17 10:51:16] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1080, 8166 khash/s
[2017-07-17 10:51:21] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1080, 8232 khash/s

except for my hashrate being a paltry 1400kh/s, that is the exact window i get when i mine with my 750ti.
and all of last year (2016) it was hitting about 3 to 4 blocks a day. Bear in mind the net hashrate/difficulty NOW is about THIRTY TIMES what it was back then!

But yeah you are indeed mining  and at that hashrate , 8200kh/s (at current difficulty)
you should, over the long haul ,on average hit 1 block every 32 hours or .73 blocks a day.

( IF i did my math right.... and that's a  big if! )

So I've been mining this and got around 50 coins yesterday. Today I only got 4 coins... Is it just me or is mining this coin useless?

I wouldn't call $54 in two days useless.

Thanks Ayers,

But like I mentioned, I've already got the config file setup correctly for the wallet. I'm actually already mining to it just fine with some nVidia cards.

I just can't figure out what the command line flags are for the AMD Miner to connect to a remote wallet. The Readme file that comes with it isn't very helpful and it doesn't seem to mention how to connect to it on the websites mining guide.

----

Another separate question regarding AMD's, does anyone know if the existing miner supports RX (480/580) cards?

I think that's important so I'll post it here:

!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

Hi georgem,

I have bought spreadcoins a few months ago because of the helium project and putted them on a paperwallet. Now I tried to import them in to the spreadcoin wallet on my laptop but I can't get it done.

By looking on the internet i found out that spreadcoin is working with a compressed public key and private key, something i did not know.

What i don't understand is that if i look at the SpreadCoin Blockchain Explorer
my address has spreadcoins on it:

Address   SQtakqnKGKUZLK5UhRqETkWAZp6P4nZ7UG
Balance   5,000.6 SPR
Rich List   Rank 133   at block 1536916 with 5,000.6 SPR
Guesstimated Wallet   none
Received   5,000.6 SPR   in 2 transactions
Sent   0.0 SPR   in 0 transactions

But I'm not able to import them with importprivkey into the spreadcoin wallet due to its not compressed.
Is there a possibility to get my coins back?

Hope you can help me

Kind regards Piet

Hey Piet van Looij,

It depends on where you created your paperwallet and whether that site properly uses compressed keys and shows you the right privatekey.

If that isn't the case then your coins are lost and can't be recovered.
(meaning the privatekey they gave you is for another address)

Read about it here in this thread, another user had a similar experience like yours:

http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=774.0

I am creating a new wallet that will implement a paperwallet function exactly because of this reason, so you don't have to hope and guess whether some third party service knows how to follow spreadcoin's protocol.

That is a problem that keeps coming up.
In the last ca 3 years I heard maybe 5 people report similar problems, so it's worrying that this keeps coming up.

 Sad

I'll put a warning in the first post of the thread.

Hi georgem,

I have search for the necessity of using only compressed Public adresses and compressed private keys on the spreadcoin website and in the white paper but I can't find it!

People as myself use the Paperwallet generator (https://walletgenerator.net/) a lot in order to securely store the coins. If we don't know that we need to use the Spreadcoin compressed Public adress we are lost...

My spreadcoins are on the Spreadcoin blockchain. I have the private key belonging to that adress (which is the non compressed one).
Is there a possibility for you or your team to create the possibility to import private keys for non compressed spreadcoin adresses?

If you would to that you would help people from your community a lot.

Thanks in advance to help us out...

for me 10.000 coins are at stake from 2 paperwallets

Hi georgem,

I have search for the necessity of using only compressed Public adresses and compressed private keys on the spreadcoin website and in the white paper but I can't find it!

Mr. Spread (the original creator of Spreadcoin) implemented this as part of his "compact transactions" scheme.

If you would to that you would help people from your community a lot.

Oh I think the community is fine.

No miner, no exchange, no user of official spreadcoin software ever complained about the compressed key format.
Sadly it's always the zero-post accounts that pop up now and then who used some third party service (that we don't recommend for a reason) and then they complain.

All I can do is make the warnings bigger I guess.

My spreadcoins are on the Spreadcoin blockchain. I have the private key belonging to that adress (which is the non compressed one).

Well, de facto, since Spreadcoin doesn't use non compressed keys your spreadcoins are NOT part of the Spreadcoin blockchain.
And yes, I understand that the amount you sent is clearly visible on that SPR address, but you DON'T own the compressed private key that corresponds to that address.
Basically, you sent your SPR to the wrong address.  Embarrassed
I know it sucks but those are the internal rules.

Is there a possibility for you or your team to create the possibility to import private keys for non compressed spreadcoin adresses?

No, we can't have both compressed and uncompressed keys, since that would amount to 1 privatekey controlling two kinds of spreadcoin addresses, and all SPR amounts would be double, that's not how this works.

Thanks in advance to help us out...

I suggest you do the following:

since your intent was to purchase HLM with those SPR,
and since HLM will (as far as I know) bring its coins into existence through some sort of swap,
you could ask the HLM team to consider your SPR amount that you sent to a non standard address.

If I'm not mistaken HLM will use a centrally controlled escrow mechanism to swap those SPR for HLM.
It will be infinitely easier for HLM to consider your non-standard SPR, instead of Spreadcoin changing it's protocol to solve a rookie mistake.

George, don't you think it would be a good idea to ask the paper wallet provider to either remove Spreadcoin from their site or modify the generator to work properly?

For what its worth, I wouldn't really call this a rookie error. Its more of a case of a usually reliable service that is mis configured for your project.
