By the way, this isn't just a flashy brand. The vodka itself is excellent - it is my favorite, even without the Bitcoin connection. I have four barrels in my freezer.
Where do you live? Can you message me on how you imported it if you in the U.S.? Barrels in my freezer, I am getting goose bumps. Imported the old fashioned way... fly to Austria, come back with 8 barrels in my luggage. How it made it through security is beyond me (yes it was checked baggage, but can you imagine what the x-ray image would look like? hahahaha) Holy S**t your a mad man. Cheers, okay time to find "the way". D

I don't like the idea of alcohol extracting BPA or other crap from the lining of the can.
BPA is in plastics, right?! Yes, in the plastic lining of most aluminum cans. It's highly soluble in alcohol. Also no, it's not just in plastics. Thermal printer paper (receipts) are usually soaked with BPA, up to 2%. Yes, it is used as a material softener if I am correct.

Could somebody help me out here? How exactly is NEFT related to Bitcoin, other than having the sign "We support BTC economy" on their website? I didn't see Bitcoin anywhere else, neither on the cans nor is there a shop where I can order some NEFT for BTC. Are they just trying to get the Bitcoin crowd wasted?

Until I see it happen, it's just another empty promise. Sorry to sound so sceptical, but my scepticism is justified after all the hype-based marketing I've seen.

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable. Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

~Bruno~
Honestly, I don't know enough to comment...so I won't because I dont want MORE rumors starting because of me. Here's the deal! I've found nothing nefarious about either entities, for I've no reason to dig for such, and only stumbled upon the information by happenstance, but make no mistake, both entities are connected, and am currently taken aback that said information is not disclosed. Unless I'm missing something, there should be nothing to hide, and it's not at all strange for two completely different business types to be operated by the same enterprise. So here's what I'm requesting. Will the owner(s) of BitcoinCard/NeftVolka please come forward and lay out your cards? Thank you, in advance. ~Bruno~ PS: And rumors shouldn't even be part of the equation unless, of course, I've also stumbled upon the September surprise, for it looks like that BitcoinCard(.org) looks promising. A few Bitcoiners and I are meeting the guys behing BitcoinCard in Europe at the end of the month to talk about US Distribution. Will keep you all updated!

So here's what I'm requesting. Will the owner(s) of BitcoinCard/NeftVolka please come forward and lay out your cards?
You are overthinking it. Basically, when we were all in Vienna working on BitcoinCard we were introduced to a few people who make NEFT Vodka and they fell in love with Bitcoin. The same people working on the BitcoinCard are the ones who introduced us (I think they did some business in the past together) which gave us some credibility when pitching Bitcoin. Anyways, one of the NEFT guys and I became good friends, he was just in NYC actually, and he has a Bitcoin boner! Given my past in eCommerce and shipping logistics, I offered to help them set up distribution but they declined my help because they already have distribution in the US ready to go and I think they are just working on the importing and licenses now. Is it possible there are higher up connections? Im sure its possible, but thats higher then my paygrade lol and I dont speak Russian nor German. I'm sure there are investors in NEFT that have business interests in other things, and the chain could reach BitcoinCard. I'm not sure. Thats pretty much all I know right now, but I'm happy to relay any questions to them! -Charlie

Again, nothing nefarious, but a fuller understanding of who's behind Neft Vodka, and now BitcoinCard, is warranted. http://www.amazon.de/Die-Online-Redaktion-Praxisbuch-Internetjournalismus-X-media-press/dp/3642007198The online editorial team: Practice Book for Internet journalism (X.media.press) [Hardcover] Thomas Holzinger (Author) , Martin Sturmer (Author) The content development of the Internet, keep up with the technological possibilities with hardly. A couple of good-ole-PR-boys who, at least one of them, is behind NeftVodka and BitcoinCard. For the life of me, I don't understand why both business concerns needed to be presented to this community in the matter in which they were presented. Look what I found! Yea, that's me or I'm behind that or there's more info coming. Or the way this thread was started, with all due respect to evoorhees--seriously. Until I have reason to believe otherwise, Charlie, Erik, Roger, et al., are great bitcoiners, but come on guys, let's be a little more up front. With the exception of the real trolls, we're all on the same team, albeit I'm in an orange uniform, but regardless, let's play ball. Peace! ~Bruno~

Are you sure that Thomas Holzinger is really behind both businesses, and not just an owner/worker in a PR firm that both businesses hired? For instance maybe part of the services they offer is registering domains and hosting websites? Just wondering out loud...

Thomas Holzinger is the general manager of NEFT for Europe and a good friend of mine...he has nothing to do with the BitcoinCard as my understanding. It's possible he has registered domain names, but it probably means he works with the same people, like I said similar business interests. Sorry Bruno, everything I told you is transparent and truthful. Oh, neither of those guys in the picture is Thomas, I've never seen those guys before.
