Even though I have heard of Bitcoin before, a friend of mine actually got me to look into it more seriously. He even gave me some old miners he had (well sold them to me pretty cheap) and helped me setup mining an alt coin (Vanillacoin). So far it seems to look very promising and I should make my investment back soon. I also have played with Litecoin and of course Bitcoin on the exchanges and have made a few $$ profit.

My friend told a few other people as well, but I think most are still hesitant to get in. Myself, I seen that Bitcoin bubbled before and also thought it just another get risk quick scheme, so I admit it took some convincing for me to join in. I think Bitcoin still has shady taint to it out in the world and will take some serious credibility to get past that image. Having just read that Back-page is now accepting it, I think the image problem is still going in the wrong direction.

So while I am starting to learn more about it and believe in it, I don't think I am at the point I would go around recommending it to other people. It has a steep learning curve and just reading various threads on this forum it seems that it is still too easy to be scammed.

I have recommended Bitcoin to many friends.  All of them rejected it thinking it was some kind of scam and they thought I was naive for believing in it.

Same was with me as they don't know exactly what bitcoin is all about so they didn't shown any interest in investing their time and money in  a thing which they really don't know. I insisted them to watch videos on youtube but still they were not attracted to bitcoins. Poor People.  Grin Grin

Yeah and sometimes they find it insulting or jealous that something new you know that they don't know. And that is the reason they avoid and don't show their interest in learning something new. But I assure you after hearing from me they would have surely google it and would have understood what bitcoin is but they don't want to admit it in front of me.

Hahah someone who called a nerd or either a freak person, they just dont't know what is bitcoin and what it can do to the economy of the world, and maybe it also is the reason to don't have any delay in transaction.

I think you should explain them about bitcoin that can be changed to fiat, and look at their expression when you hold your bucks after that. Or maybe you could show them bitcoin's exchange rate to fiat  Smiley

I think most of us was like that, didn't believe bitcoin initially and had no idea about it. In few years later I hope they will get into bitcoin too.

I invited one my friends and he's really  interested to learn and earn some bucks, then I told him to visit this site www.bitcoin.org, search about bitcoin in the internet and recommended this forum. After a few days, it was an epic failed, he's not interested anymore. Sad,

That is the case with most of the people around us. They view it as a risky tool as the price keeps on fluctuating and they compare it which stocks and honestly they have lost huge money in stocks so now they dont want to risk again.

To bring people to use bitcoin at the beginning is a bit hard, but after they are in its hard to go away

I have a Bitcoin logo sticker on my laptop, so I always get asked about it. Sadly, however, the only thing they seem to want to know is if I've made any money...  Lips sealed

I think they will always ask you, but will never understand what are you saying to answer their question?

Most people will never understand why Bitcoin is important, only a small % of people gets it. The thing is, we don't really need them to understand it. Just like people have no idea how internet works, eventually everyone will use it even if they don't know what it really is and how it works, once things start working under the blockchain they will not even realize it.

Its better to explain them that bitcoin can be converted to fiat, since they like fiat right? Then just tell him how get bitcoin, and show them the bitcoin they have got can exchanged to fiat.
