Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

The forum was recently hacked and everything had to be re-setup. Theymos hasn't gotten around to building the search index I guess.

Here's an alternative. Go to Google.com and do this search: <search term (without the <> stuff)> site:bitcointalk.org

theres your answer; hopefully everything gwts up and running soon, meanwhile you could search google for what you need and add "bitcointalk" in the search and you might get the results you want.

i have never needed the "site:bitcointalk.org" addition to my searches.
since bitcointalk is the most popular forum on bitcoin, so far everything bitcoin related that i searched, there was a bitcointalk.org thread in the first results page.
