if an account has been inactive for a while like 8 weeks, if it starts posting again can it get the 56 activity it could have got in the time or only 14?
It doesn't work like that, and for good reason. If it did work like that everybody could create 10+ accounts and then just let them sit for a year or so and start posting again and become a Sr. Member or similar instantly. You have to post during every 2 week period to get the activity increase.
That was my interpretation of it at least. Each post is worth 1 activity, up to a cap of 14 which is reset every ~2 weeks.
There is no banking of points or potential mentioned anywhere.Gratz on the rank. One thing that has always confused me is that I seem to have equal Activity and Post counts. Not sure why but I guess I'm lucky to be 1:1.
That happens when you post very consistently, but less than once per day on average. Most people get 14 activity points every 2 weeks because they post a lot. But if you post less than 14 times in a fortnight (but at least once), then you get only [the number of posts in that fortnight], and the remainder is "banked": you can get it by posting at any time in the future. So every time you post, your activity will also increase by 1 until you're used all of your banked activity.
You have 1274 banked activity points, more than all but 113 users. A lot of people wish they were you.
