Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

About the block reward's effect on coinbase tx size, for the next CN fork, it's possible to get the best of both worlds: a "guiding" smooth emission curve, but with the actual rewards quantized. The "less smooth" effect should not matter. The block reward penalty would still apply, but it too might be quantized (on the upside, I guess). I believe the XDN one isn't quantized anyway, and I've not seen it happen much recently so it's unclear it matters much.

For non coinbase txes, I think XDN's best off for two reasons: because it did not have the period of mining with dusty pool payouts, so payments don't spend old dust; and because a ducknote is worth very little so pretty much all amounts chosen by a person (as oipposed to automatically calculated) are above the dust level anyway.

Last, block time could be adaptive, with a similar algorithm to difficulty, but based on number and size of transactions. Given a quantized block reward, smoothly varying targets should not cause block rewards to go dusty as they adapt to keep the emission curve close to the ideal.

Would need studying to make sure those can't get gamed by large hash miners though.

Doesn't BBR do something like that?

EDIT: I just looked. They do quantize, without dust. But they do it to five digits after the decimal, which currently makes 7 outputs (will be 6 once the rewards drop to <10). That's pretty dumb. If you are going to quantize, at least quantize to a small number of outputs.

DigitalNote "generation" transaction has no dust and very small and good for mixing and SMALLEST CryptoNote transaction, because of outputs structure (only 2 outputs with static block reward and no dust, because of halvings. 150 block reward= 100and 50). DigitalNote "generation" transaction size = 130 bytes (i take min. nowdays value!), and average XDN "empty" block = 174 bytes.

I'm curious why you didn't just make it 100 or 200 which would have been even smaller (one output), about half the size instead of 150 (two outputs).

BTW, I don't see the point of rehashing a bunch of bickering from February, clearly everyone has moved on and continued development since then. If trolls are digging that stuff up to create conflict, it would probably be better to just ignore them.

There were some "1" outputs when there was a duck->dark time, so XDN blockchain had a periods of "1" output. Although 100 + 50 with 2 outputs is an "ideal" variant, IMO.

Agree with your BTW, @smooth. Any way i am not going to conflict with someone, just answering questions, no anger here.

Just a note to say that the bonus for the july hashrate rally was received (thanks dNote!) and all miners' bonus have now been paid. Interestingly, I had to decrease mixin from 3 as some large denominations did not have enough outputs on the blockchain to mix with (going by what can throw such an exception in the code).

We are working on Proof-of-activity in DigitalNote XDN http://digitalnote.org/whitepaper.pdf and i think it will be ready in September 2015.

EDIT: The trick for us is XDN private structure. So we made blockchain bank deposits, a new instance for building POA on the top of it.

XDN Price is falling down Sad

It's a good buying opportunity , someone smart will snap up the few BTC worth of XDN under 100 satoshis , either to invest or to lower the average price of any higher buys previously effected . In any case , we want as much people as possible to use XDN Services , a slightly lower lower entry price is rather favourable and encouraging to reach our goals in in the long run .

I'm happy to get some at 70 satoshis.  What a sweet deal.

XDN Price is falling down Sad

every sale is someone's buy, spreading XDN coin units.

DigitalNote is not like other cryptos. Look at supply factor, it is completely ruled by free market and was mined with fair PoW.

79.6% of ever generated XDN is in free circulation now.

DigitalNote speaks for itself. XDN unique features, like encrypted messaging and blockchain banking (first Proof-of-Activity step), are giving a true value to blockchain.

Actually first (XDN) year was a year of "initial distribution" or "initial spreading", this year is a year of "market spreading".

Low prices is a really good opportunity for every crypto enthusiast to participate in the XDN-project.

XDN does have real advantages for users and customers appreciating top privacy .
It's really private and secure , nobody will be able to snoop at your account .
XDN is easy to use for currency related activities , and for messaging safely .

For a project only out in the wild for about a year it covers the basics .
As our community evolves into a little eco-system with manyfold exchanges ,
new , compatible services to manage our currency tool will become available .
Here , I remark , true innovation has happened through 3 project iterations —
the funny stages of duckNote in the DarkNote to DigitalNote : Fully compatible .

There are ideas we could benefit from , if we manage to describe them to devs ,
they are more likely to follow up on the idea & necessity of any implementation .

I like the feature of the new wallet that rewards mining efforts in chunks of 10 XDN
Running the Wallet overnight gives everyone who does a good bunch of 10-XDN-rewards .
That is quite neat and functional for totally private messaging needs of most new users .
They can easily download the wallet , get the blockchain synched in hours , and mine away .

If anyone plans to use a currency for a more demanding project , XDN is cheap enough — now .

Some are focussed on XDN for saving in hope for price appreciation ; some'll add more value .
Both will happen , by the events we may set off , eventually , that's how everything happens .
If we want to grow , we have to put value around and into the very framework we will utilise .

Personally , I have set a limit to my exposure and commitment considering some boundaries .
For my part , have not sold 1 XDN so far on the markets , I bought my entire share ≥55 sats .
I have not been speculating but only promoting with the best intention that would benefit all .
I don't mind if it drops for I still could double my uptake , remaining in a reasonable amount .
My optimistic view on XDN foresees prices rising to beyond 150 Sats & by 3 magnitudes more .

I am inclined to consider that I am not the only one here who sees XDN as a valuable asset and
enabler of digital services , banking , lending , saving , transacting in several activities .
Fortunately , I have enough imagination and entrepreneurial drive to see clear use cases ,
and if not enough , I could back up each unit with real value worth bucks to create one …

There is bliss in being courageous , and reward in taking up uncertainties early on .

This is Early On in the XDN Realm of endeavours and dreams .
Connect the Dots and You will See Roll Eyes

Can`t see your image.
Any way every time use the latest XDN software.

If you made some deposit transaction there are 2 ways for it to go:

1. everything is ok. your transaction is included in blockchain and you can see your unlock time
2. something is wrong, eg your transaction is too big and was not included in blockchain

In 2 case you will receive your XDN back, if transaction was excluded from transaction pool for some reason.

deposit is a "lock" of XDN.

Try to run the latest XDN wallet and resync with network from your private .keys file or plan text imported private key.
