Hello everyone and welcome to the bitcoin/crypto world.  Smiley

I recently found a site that LISTS EVERY BITCOIN PRIVATE KEY!

 The Site: http://directory.io

But There is also another site going around with that site ( http://directory.cf/ )

They ask you to enter your private key to "check if your key is in the list". (DO NOT ATTEMPT)

NEVER Share Your Private Key... Not Even With Your Mother!

They will steal your bitcoin because you just gave them your private key!

The huge list is not fake but its not real at the same time...

Read the FAQ page on that site: http://directory.io/faq

Now I think everyone should take the next hour to watch the youtube video below and you will learn allot more about bitcoin and just how big the network is and how hard it would be to "hack" the network or make a "double spend".

I'm not sure what it means either.  But either way don't enter no site should you ever put your private key.

It should be in cold storage on usb drives, or a paper wallet.   Both of these are great long term storage devices.     And you can keep a hot wallet with a little spending cash in it.

Read the FAQ page >>> http://directory.io/faq

it explains what it is. It was meant to be a joke but it scared allot of people and now it is scamming people (on that other site) because they are tell you they can search the "leak site" to see if your wallet is in the huge list of wallets and private keys.

All of them all real wallets and real private keys but read the FAQ page and you will understand it a little more.

I know but some noobies fall for the trick and give their private key to "check if they are in the list" and then they get ripped off. I just want people to know about it before someone tries to trick them. Wink

Yea but i mean look at how many pages are there.

I think the odds of all of us get hit by a meteorite simultaneously, WHILE at the same time having a heart attack and being struck by a lightning all at once is considerably higher than for someone to get your private key from that list.

if in any way someone could have produced all those pages of private keys be sure that he wouldn't publish it, the first thing he would do is to empty the wallets that he could find from first page onward.

and since this website has been around for years, i assure you that it is a scam to make people go check their private keys in that search thingy and lose their coins.

You don't get it.

It's a joke. The keys generate themselves accordingly to the page number. Because it generates every single possible private key + address, yes, technically, yours is on there too. But you can't find it:

Quote
Q: So you don't store a database of every single key?
A: No.

Q: All keys are generated on the fly, based upon the page number?
A: Yes.

Q: That means, somewhere, on some page, my private key is listed?
A: Yes. But it will never be found. Ever. Because math. (@see http://redd.it/1rurll)

Please, learn to read before posting nonsense.

"Gotta be a joke" but the first one on the list has transactions from 2011. Most likely these are pages of randomly-generated addresses but they put some already-compromised list at the top to scare people into thinking it is real.

I'm not who would consider that under any circumstance.  That's like handing over cash to a stranger, to ask them to check if the bills are legitimate, while you close your eyes.
