There are quite a few coins with unique blockchains now that differ greatly on many levels. The only problem is that many are caught up in demonstrating their techno weenie cleverness rather than attempting to market them.

Uhm, that is simply not true. The technology behind monero is new and based on cryptonote, including a baseline anonymity feature. For example, you can't even know who has the most coins, or create a "rich-list". Moneros blockchain is not parsable.

 I sent all my LTC to the exchanges and have been arbing them ever since they merged.I will never keep LTC again.

A merged mined coin doesn't mean anything Bitcoin has Namecoin, Devcoin, ixcoin, i0coin and groupcoin merge mined. Does this mean Bitcoin is a joke now?

the popularity that bitcoin has, litecoin will never have.
the number of people who have invested and will invest in bitcoin is going to always bigger.
there is much more places that one can spend his bitcoins, and that is not true about litecoin.

There's a reason why bitcoin's market cap is so much larger. LTC is nothing but a bad clone, offering little to no progress, and i don't see a reason why anyone would back it up, unless for quick profit
in times like now, when the halving is to happen. But even now, it's just bought for fast profit, and it's right back to btc again.
To me it looks like nothing more than an abandoned project, on it's way to crypto graveyard.

As far as I know nobody is stress testing the litecoin network like they are bitcoin. Which brings up the question: how much would it cost to run the equivalent stress test on litecoin? I think I read it costs around $5000 to do it to bitcoin.

Dash uses X11. They are very proud of inventing it. And Dash doesn't use ring sigs they use the masternode system, they also invented, for their anonymity.

All cryptonote coins like monero can do anonymous transactions without the help of anyone else because of ring sigs. Dash users need the help of masternodes to mix their coins to do anonymous transactions.
