How can that solve the issue? What if another networking issue hits the 2nd wave?

I would have much preferred to pay for my order 4 days ago when I first e-mailed you. Why can the people who have already showed interest not reserve units? This seems a little unfair, as the number of units that I wanted have been factored into your plans, only for them to be purchased by somebody else.

Yeah. Very frustrating. 
I was trying immediately the countdown hit zero - but have only managed to even get to the shop part now.

Nope. In fact I think it was already announced clearly at the very first topic:

We are taking orders for the “initial batch run”. They will be only 300 units available for pre-order. again, the price is $1,299 per unit.
note: large order will have priorities.

Well, I think a limit on the number of units would have been a fairer way of doing this. I am still struggling to accept the idea that one person has successfully ordered 43 units, while there are at least half a dozen individuals with none at all.

I want less than 5 units. I, like many others, don't have > $38970 to spare. How many of the second batch of Avalons will be bought 30 at a time?

Basically, don't apply if you have less than $40, 000. Great.

When I initially tried this it did nothing.  Now I get a DNS error.
I was briefly able to sign in at one stage.
I actually got to a page where I could enter the quantity to purchase once and tried to buy 2 - but then it crapped out again.

Can those of us who have trouble with the system order via email like we did with Icarus?

And so, between now and when the final 100 become available, anyone with $40, 000 can buy +30? Or is that just once they become available again? And so the first customer can easily just order all 100 for themselves?

What if the same customers that got units the 1st time also get more units the 2nd time? I am not at all pleased with this situation.

Please understand that there is atleast 100+ units in reserve, not to mention due to this surge in network load many of the orders are duplicates so we are working on that. in addition we have already contact and account for all the large orders, they are not part of the website ordering queue and is separate from the 100+ units in reserve.

Have all Avalons been sold? After shipping, duties, taxes, etc. $1300 is a good price, but if I have to pay $2k AND shipping, duties, taxes, etc. on top of that the offer no longer appeals to me and I'm not buying.

This seems like a great way of consolidating the wealth of those that are already very wealthy. I cannot imagine being in a position to prioritise the spending of $40, 000 on mining equipment.

To have that much money just for mining, you have to be very wealthy already. "Avalon" means "Island of Apples". Perhaps this device should be called "Jersey" instead (an island of millionaires).

God damn it. So while I was asleep the site went online, got broken, got fixed, and the preliminary preorder got filled up. Damn it. I too must ask if there's some other way I can reserve on or something, I can't be online at all times.

I imagine that if the profitable nature of mining goes down as a result of several 1Th/s joining the network...that would probably drive prices down.

Alot of the coins would be in the hands of a few I think. That begs the question of what value the coins may have in the future.

Well, if you can find any one person whom is willing to take on a community sized responsibility of pooling several dozen peoples purchases into one, you can go down the path of collective owner ship of a BFL 1Th/s system. If they are willing to take on the risk of PayPal and Credit Card purchases....or BTC equivalents...

Either that or have a trustworthy broker place "a major order" on the behalf of various buyers. I mean they are giving "bulk buyers" priority and (apparently) a separate pool of pre-order stock. I haven't been in this community for long, but does anyone want to nominate someone whom can handle the task/risk of placing a bulk order with our collective cash/BTC?

No one has yet asked if there is still stock for bulk pre-orders.

If you want it badly enough you could seek a trust worthy member with impeccable credibility...whomever they may be.
