Firstly, the UK Government is trying to gauge what metrics might be reliable indicators of future extremism by looking at signs indicative of early conditioning. Homophobia in children is the result of hateful conditioning. It is not a sign of healthy and well-balanced parenting.
The UKIP case, if you took the time to read the facts, has already been explained as having been misrepresented and that the reasons for removal of the children was not because they were members of UKIP.
