Well 1 troy oz. .999 fine silver means that it is an actual 1 troy ounce of pure silver, this for sure is a problem.

Dang, I was really interested until I realized it was built like a scam bar meant to trick people into thinking it's solid silver. 

I would definitively buy one if it was labeled as being plated on the actual bar even though it isn't solid silver.   

It's not truly "bullion" if it isn't solid silver (base metals don't count!) so I'd say the title of the thread is misleading as well.

for the numbers : i ask to the fabricant to minted the bars from 0 to 100 , yes they all comes with an additionnal 0  , it was an error , but that's not change the fact: there's only 100 pieces of theses bullion , not one more !

I think a lot has been getting lost in translation and is being taken the wrong way. I collect silver bars ....but your bars are all wrong . (1 troy oz .999 fine silver ) is a big problem in my opinion ... HOWEVER ..I like the looks of the bars  and if people want to add a PaperSafe note to match the bar number I would gladly try to accomodate . But because of the " 999 fine silver " stamped on the bars , which they are not. I CAN NOT fully endorse your product..and that was why I posted that I was not associated with your product.

It would have been better to produce your first run with solid silver..real .999 fine silver . I Would have loved to worked together with producing a real silver bar and a Silver Satoshi Note that would have went well together....

I'm not sure I would call the paper wallet a DIY, as they're not supplying a paper wallet that you put the holo and private keys on.  He's just supplying a generic holo you can get off ebay.  Its up to the buyer to make their own paper wallet and attach the generic holo to it.

Out of curiousity, are there any laws of stating something is 1 oz .999 Pure Silver when its not?  It wasn't the OP's intention to mislead, but it is risky for resale.

As I see it, this item isn't for people really looking to buy silver. If someone wants to buy silver as a means of storing value, then this isn't the item for him. (Just like silver Casascius coins also aren't).
There is a high demand for BTC related goods and this is seen as a collectable that people are prepared to pay a bit extra for.
As with most goods, the sale price of an item is not the same as the cost of manufacturing. Items are almost always more expensive because you have to take into account the design costs, costs of manufacturing, labour costs as well as various other factors.
An iPhone only cost $100 to manufacture, so why do people pay 5-8x of its value?

I would even be fine with a smooth area that would allow the holo to stick to.  OP...I may suggest in your next design to consider leaving an area empty on the bar so the holo can be put there.  Even better is to have it recessed, so the private key doesn't create a bump under the holo.

I can accept selling a fake bar to some extend, if it is clear that it is not pure silver.
But the head line text makes it sound like defcon23 produced this bar.

I would say that it is minted from 0001 to as many that chinese page can sell.
I would not say it is a scam, but I must say that it is very deceiving.

I'm not defending OP.. But it looks like the bars are a custom made design... but the supplier decided to sell the design too... The description says customer custom design...  The design just happen to be misleading and totally wrong.....  .999 fine silver.... being the first...

Question to OP.   Was it in the contract that the supplier can sell your design..... This is just a question ...and as a warning to any users who want to design there own Bar/round on the cheap....Basicly ....  DONT USE THIS SUPPLIER TO PRODUCE ROUNDS OR BARS!!!!!!  Because they will sell your design.

I'm not defending OP.. But it looks like the bars are a custom made design... but the supplier decided to sell the design too... The description says customer custom design...  The design just happen to be misleading and totally wrong.....  .999 fine silver.... being the first...

The Chinese supplier sells knockoffs of solid .999 Silver brands: Lealana, Silver Species.   

But the OP appears to be selling the exact same item as the Chinese supplier and passing it off as his own original design.  Both are Plated, numbered, no hologram, same exact design.

yeah,  International WANGUO is the fabricant. they made this bar on my own design , and now they propose the same bars, with the same design , at a riduculous price, and overwise  i had to paid for this design, the lazer numbers on the bar , and finaly the shipping coast..   fu...g chinesse suppliers    they clone all what they can.. the part i wasnt know from International WANGUO , it's they are ressseller too on alie express .. where apparently they start to try selling my design.., what they're not supposed to do

yeah BG4 .. this is what i thought it  happend ., but apparently it's a mistake they made: but they didnt sell this design to anyone else.. and they will never do it. "Sorry, this item is no longer available!" is clearly stated on their website...

so the fact is: theres only 100 bars produced.., and there will never be another one !
