I will agree with everyone that the 'one troy oz .999 fine silver' is pretty misleading.

And the numbering strikes me as a bit odd since there are 4 placeholders (which implies =>1000 bars) but there are only 1-100 bars.

Anyway, I hope all goes as planned for you.  Smiley I definitely like the look of the back of the bar.

They used to do this kind of stuff on eBay a lot back in the day. They called it "3 Mils .999 pure silver". They made it appear as if the mint name was "3 mils", but what they were really doing was giving you legal disclosure you were buying 3 mils of .999 silver xD

Its just clad, fake, not real.. Same with german silver its a combination of different material yes it is real .999 GERMAN silver, but not .999 silver..

The bars look nice but I wanted to clarify a few things.
Firstly, how were the paper wallets generated? I'd have preferred the bar acting as a physical wallet but it still looks nice.
Secondly, why is the first number 0001. That shows a montage of 1000 and not 100. Surely it should have been 001-100?
Lastly, is number 100 still available and what is the cost of shipping to the UK?
Thanks

I was just wondering if this is this a mistake?
"999 Fine silver plated"

Later:
"One Troy Ounce, 999 Fine silver"

Is it solid or plated?

Cheers Smiley

it's silver Plated

Very misleading to have the bar state "1 Troy Ounce 999 Fine Silver"

I've seen bars like this on ebay a few years ago (of course not branded for bit coin, but sold as an ounce of silver).

for the numbers : i ask to the fabricant to minted the bars from 0 to 100 , yes they all comes with an additionnal 0  , it was an error , but that's not change the fact: there's only 100 pieces of theses bullion , not one more !   Wink
- you have to edit the paper wallet by yourself. ( using bitadress.org offline,  coinbase, papersafe ..)
- unfortunaly number 100 isn't available yet ( marked as reserved )

So to be clear, this does not come with a paper wallet?  You're providing a generic hologram with which we can make our own paper wallet that is completely separate from the bar?

I collect all physical crypto wallets, so I'm trying to understand if you provide one with the bar.

I will gladly sell anyone a PaperSafe Satoshi Note to stick the generic hologram sticker on... but PaperSafe Note " keys" are not editable or printable .. I will also try to accommodate matching numbers to certificates....

( I or PaperSafe.org is by no means associated with this product)

I think a lot has been getting lost in translation and is being taken the wrong way. I collect silver bars ....but your bars are all wrong . (1 troy oz .999 fine silver ) is a big problem in my opinion ... HOWEVER ..I like the looks of the bars  and if people want to add a PaperSafe note to match the bar number I would gladly try to accomodate . But because of the " 999 fine silver " stamped on the bars , which they are not. I CAN NOT fully endorse your product..and that was why I posted that I was not associated with your product.

It would have been better to produce your first run with solid silver..real .999 fine silver . I Would have loved to worked together with producing a real silver bar and a Silver Satoshi Note that would have went well together....

I great way to avoid this kind of confusing is to use the term "DIY" (Do it yourself), pretty much all crytpo collectors know that DIY means that private key + funding has to done by them self.

Cryptography is one of the few things you can truly trust.

I'm not sure I would call the paper wallet a DIY, as they're not supplying a paper wallet that you put the holo and private keys on.  He's just supplying a generic holo you can get off ebay.  Its up to the buyer to make their own paper wallet and attach the generic holo to it.

Out of curiousity, are there any laws of stating something is 1 oz .999 Pure Silver when its not?  It wasn't the OP's intention to mislead, but it is risky for resale.

Who would pay $40 for a fake silver bar when a real 1 oz. silver bar will cost you only $18? You can get 2 real 1 oz. silver bars for that price.

As I see it, this item isn't for people really looking to buy silver. If someone wants to buy silver as a means of storing value, then this isn't the item for him. (Just like silver Casascius coins also aren't).
There is a high demand for BTC related goods and this is seen as a collectable that people are prepared to pay a bit extra for.
As with most goods, the sale price of an item is not the same as the cost of manufacturing. Items are almost always more expensive because you have to take into account the design costs, costs of manufacturing, labour costs as well as various other factors.
An iPhone only cost $100 to manufacture, so why do people pay 5-8x of its value?
