I'm not really into calculating the expected price of Litecoin in the future with these drawings and charts.

It's good to see that the price is increasing now, but looking at the history we were at much higher levels. To me, to only thing that could REALLY let the Litecoin increase in value, is a rally of the Bitcoin. Rallys of Bitcoins have shown earlier to attract more people into altcoins. As the BTC at its ATH looked really expensive for some people, they thought they were better of buying stable / reliable altcoins like Litecoin. The same happend with other altcoins.

And that's why I'm holding multiple altcoins, and that's why I'm waiting for a rally again Wink.

How much further do you think litecoin can go? It has already risen 5x in price.. If it goes another 10x it is already on par with bitcoin if you take the 4x supply into account.. The rally is already happening imo. Just the question is how far can we go?

I don't think it's sufficient to look at current supplies and demand for extreme rally's. I can remember that we had daily news items about the Bitcoin over here in the Netherlands when it reaches it ATH, and I'm sure much new people "joined" by buying BTC (or altcoins) in order to gain advantage. Those people have lost much of their value for sure.  But when such extreme rallys happen again, the altcoins will be worth much more. What if the BTC rises x3 and also the value of an altcoin VS BTC increases.. An altcoin will gain much value then.

{Curently quite inactive as I'm really busy in my private life. I will get back soon!}

i personally am keeping my eye on a couple of things.

the first thing that i think is the most important off all is the block halving of litecoin, the closer we get to it and also a while after the block halving is going to be the most interesting times.

other thing is the bitcoin price, i am monitoring how the price will be since it has an undeniable effect on litecoin price.

anyways i am expecting $6+ soon.

Nice prediction lol

There we go. Now that is some proper TA, thanks for the assist!

Thx for the compliment  Smiley
The much harder task is to extrapolite a time span, when these might get Levels hit.
I can only guess, since the history of cryptocurrencies are so young, there is not enough Data.
My guess would be based on fundamentals.
When the Greek Euro Crises get extreme and or the chinese market buble (which grows in the background)
burst. Then we have 2 large economies in trouble, which probably is enough to pull down the US too.
These events will boost Gold,Silver and cryptocurrencies.
Timeframe is 3 weeks for the greek crisis and 2-5 months for the next BTC run.
If anyone has some ideas how to extrapolite the time with some proper techniques, spread the knowledge.

The strange thing is , in Forex (Fiat money) the value goes slowly up, and rapidly down.
In cryptocurrencies the behvior is the exact opposite.

I mention this because in the past LTC has skyrocketed through the 0.020 Level 2 Times.
~01.04.2013 and ~ 26.11.2013

we all mostly agree on that, but the question was more when. "soon" is too relative.
So if you or someone else could came up with more precise guesses it would be interesting.

I wasn't around when litecoin originally went up to $40, but looking at the charts it looks as if its rise this time is a lot more gradual, which I think is good. If it spikes up too hard too soon, I think we already have a nice historical record of what will happen. However if it can rise just $1 or $2 a week with periodic pullbacks, I think it would be a lot easier for people to have confidence it in long term.

So my guess would be it will keep going up, but at a slower pace than before. A nice slow average of $1/week would be another 34 weeks for it to hit $40. I doubt if interest in LTC increases rapidly it would take that long, so a more aggressive prediction of $3 week will put us about 12 weeks out, or sometime in September. I think if it rises any faster it would be unsustainable long term and we could expect a big pullback at some point.

Here is some D1 Cycle counting.
The cycles getting shorter and the value increase in about 10-20 percent  per cycle at the moment.
So this seems like there could be a 40% jump in 1 Day OR an increase of the cycle lengh
when the momentum pauses temporarily.

>We prefer the term "chart enthusiasts", thank you very much. Please dont use racial slurs.

Uhhh...just to let you know, "chartist" is an old-fashioned term that means exactly what it implies: someone who likes making forecasts from reading price charts. The people miffed by the term prefer to be known as "technical analysts" or "trend-and-cycle analysts."

With that out of the way...how the floop did "chartist" become seen as a racial slur??

I ve never seen a good forcast based on graph analysis, I dont even know why people are still doing it. You have no clue, who will do what and with how much money tomorrow + there are dozens of uncontrolled elements that influence price anytime.

How much further do you think litecoin can go? It has already risen 5x in price..

Allow me to butt in with my thoroughly subjective take on the matter. Smiley If a formerly flatlining alt goes up to the point where I get nervous, continues to go up to the point where I'd head for the hills if I had any (it would have been 0.015 had I bought some when LTC was in the dumps), and then goes up even more, then it's in a new bull market.

Had I had the wherewithal to put some funds into LTC, I'd wait until the current frenzy cooled and thread like these died down...just like I shoulda done after the first pre-halving pump to ~$1.80 (sigh)

(Yeah, I know, I never learn...)

I ve never seen a good forcast based on graph analysis, I dont even know why people are still doing it. You have no clue, who will do what and with how much money tomorrow + there are dozens of uncontrolled elements that influence price anytime.
The reason why people still doing it since over 100 years, might be that it might work  Grin.
The problem lies in the humans which try to use this toolkit. A lot lie to them self.
Technical Analysis must be mastered in both theory and practice.
Its easy to pull out some lines with vague predictions (up down) and no rule based explanaition.
Technical Analysis is a big term for a large bunch of tools and styles.
Just to name a few Styles: Candlesticktrading(Steve Nison),"PriceAction"(Nial Fullerand others),Trendlines+S&R,Volume Spread Analysis(Richard Wyckoff), CylceTheories(Gann,Elloit and others),chartpatterns(Classic,Gartley, candlesticks) i have a full excel sheet of more.

None of them will make you rich just from reading the theory. These are just tools.
A good analogy is this:
A musican must master his instrument to have succsess.
The same applies to trading and technical analysis for a trader.

So if you never seen a good forcast could caused by 2 options.
You just searched in the wrong places or to few at all.
You did not understand the thoughts of the autor.

The markets arent fully random nor fully predictable, as a trader you should think in probabilities.
This can make your work much easier and succsessful in the long run.

It is really easy to prove that markets aren't fully random, since humans arent fully random.
Last examples from Fiat markets(Forex): Greece could not pay the debt last Sunday 5. July.
Guess what happend to the Euro/USD on Monday? Price dropped.
Was this random or by reason?

Another example are Market hours.
Volatility and Volume increases and decreases at specific times during the day
Example from Fiat markets(Forex): Every day at 8h (gmt+2) the Volatility rises in Euro Pairs.
This is not random, it is causes by reason. The EU-Markets open. The same for 11-13h,
volatiliy decreases - people take their lunch. 18h they go home volatility decreases...

greetings

This is good example of what i am talking all the time Wink
Please name some arguments so other people can understand your thoughts,
1.why is the actual price of 0.02766997 the High (what idicates that?) ,
2.what arguments speak for a downmove? why not sideways?
3. What is the taget price for the downmove? (Example 0.0215300)

Wow, litecoin is not slowing down. I think we're probably in for some double-digit-litecoins. Maybe we'll see $10 before August?

Lol my pals, i think the not litecoin is gowing down, but the prediction QUALITY  Cheesy

If you ever noticed the price is always gowing down and up all day long, so this type of prediction leads to nowhere
and has no practical use or theoretical meaning.

If I understand correctly you mean buying in after the current frenzy? When it settles at a stable line again?

I'm still trying to decide how far this can go.. and where to put my sell orders.. Still looks like it has some momentum to go for now..

Although as indicated, the pump cycles are getting VERY short now, which may indicate a "spike" on the future long term charts (which would lead to a drop soon)..

I guess LTC (and NMC, PPC and NVC for being on BTC-e where everybody moved to trade LTC) is greatly supported by the problems at the bitcoin camp. Maybe we will see the 0.1 price again like in the old days?
