While I was on lunch bitcoin went up by 15$ and LTC dropped by 2$ (25%). Happy I didn't convert its probably just some transient state here. Chance to make big profits and losses, although not particularly good for the network as a whole if there are swings like this.

As said before, all in is not a good strategy...
It might pay off, but you may also get burned heavily...

Or it might pay off after a period where you're burned heavily "on paper" (mark-to-market.) I'm inclined to all-in myself, but after taking my lumps I figgered that all-in only makes sense for a long-term hold.

It helps if you think of it this way: anyone buying Bitcoin at >$25 around May of 2011 was "burned heavily" for the rest of the year...
