Ubuntu phone and ubuntu desktop ftw.
I hate what Ubuntu did to the default desktop, since they were planning to make a phone-version of Ubuntu. Microsoft tried the same: make an OS designed for phones and put it on a desktop.
Personally I like to keep those things strictly separated: a simple menu-button with a simple taskbar on my desktop, and some random loose icons on my phone. My Linux Mate is already "too fancy" with shadows behind windows and transparancy. You wouldn't print a book on transparant paper, why would you want transparant windows on your computer?
