You can check online retailers. There's one in Canada, bitcoinware, it sell for much cheaper than what i got mine from with the group buy. Check it out, its not too late http://bitcoinware.net/collections/frontpage/products/gekkoscience-usb-compac-btc-minerEdit: They raised the price significantly now, its pretty much the same price now but with Valkir we got it much much sooner.

They also say "COMING SOON. PRE-ORDER NOW". Interesting though if someone buy and be able to sell less to canada. Anyone know who is the owner of that site?

Check the first posts in the original thread. Why pre order from a re-seller? Just order direct from Sidehack, they will arrive just as quickly.

Actually, no they won't. According to the first post in this thread, I am out of stock - probably for a week or two, pending getting parts. Bitcoinware bought a bulk lot for resale, which they'll probably have in hand by Thursday.

Its just because of the double shipping from the pre order and the border apparently took a 20% tax on the bulk Valkir received and then Valkir sent us the sticks on 1 day shipping which in total costed as much as the stick, while Bitcoinware.net ship for free 2 days shipping with xpress post.

New plan. Batch 2 heatsinks will now be pink. Aw, man! I'll have to actually find some pink heat sinks now... or see if I can find a place to anodize (or, well, powdercoat more likely) these bare aluminum ones in pink... Actually I settled on purple (RAL4007), so if people really want to see Compac batch 2 in pink...

You know, down the road this month, if there was one of these available for the same price retailing here, i would buy one. The other guy's faces when i bring that to the Sidehack club. xD

Oddly enough, purple would have been not inappropriate for the Amita had that stick existed. I think we'll carry the Amita name over to pods though, if we end up building any.

Well unless you painted that batch of heatsink sitting in that storage you mentioned, i'm guessing it won't be purple. But if you make one that match my current avatar's colors, i will obviously have to get some.

So, I finally got the entire first batch of sticks going. Had I been an hour quicker with it I wouldn't have to say that any remaining unshipped orders will be shipped tomorrow afternoon. I should have been a couple days quicker getting that finished up but I lost a few days to design discussions and administrative stuff.
I hope to get started fetching the remaining parts for the second batch probably middle to end of next week. I'm not sure yet if I'll open up the sales queue before I have them built yet, but I might just to get a head start on things. I'll be ironing out some of the issues I found with assembly in the first half, and Novak might help with the hardware finishing touches, so we should be able to get this batch out quite a bit faster.

I sincerely hope that you do! I love my sticks and would love a replacement for the U3 just as much.

They are very fun to play with have a RPI going right now with them. I would love to see a multi chip usb or pod.

I've got some small design work to do on commission but it's mostly a slight rehash of an existing completed project. The next thing, well Novak and I are cooking up what, if it works, should be an interesting power system that can be used on a lot of stuff including a pod or full mining board. Actually I have four different projects in mind, three of them miners and three of them in-house designs, that'll pull from it. I hope to put together a multi-chip pod prototype sometime soon. I had actually originally hoped to have one during September but Compac manufacture took up a heck of a lot more time than I was expecting.
In any case, I'll at least shoot for a BM1384 prototype pod. I can't guarantee more than that.

sidehack, the R1 that just came out, they say it can power a U3.. you think with a powered hub, your stick can run on it?
i see that sales are suspended but i was thinking about picking up one, should i send the order in and wait now or just wait till you have stock?

If you dig through this thread, or maybe the compac support thread, you'll find that after I contacted cool gear I learned that their usb2.0 hubs are not designed to be run at or near capacity for extended periods of time due to the voltage regulator inside. I purchased a Etekcity hub off amazon and am using it for my sticks, it is rated to provide 1.0A to each usb port.

So, I think it's about time to reopen the queue. I don't have sticks in stock, since I haven't gotten parts in for the second batch yet, but I won't bore you with the long story of why... let's just say this has been a very frustrating week.
In any case, we should be bringing in parts soon and all the long-lead stuff is already in stock (ASICs, PCBs, heatsinks, whatever) so instead of six weeks or so the lead time is more like two. Plus we have a game plan for busting through manufacture quickly, based on all the stuff we figured out while busting out the first batch as quickly as we could.
So. Sales are reopened and as of right now the expected lead time is within 14 days.

sidehack, (or anyone that knows) is there a difference in the fee's on your end if I pay for sticks with paypal by sending it as payment for goods/service or sending as money to friends/family?
Want to buy some more sticks. But I want to do it the cheapest way for you on your end.
