So now both BFL and Tom are expecting a launch at around beginning of December. This is interesting.

Hey quick question, I though Tom was going to launch in November? Do you have a link to this update? Far as I know Tom has always maintained a "week after Thanksgiving" schedule. He did seem to have a calender mishap at one point  , but I don't think his shipping schedule has changed at any point. |

ASIC is also something different, than the FPGAs...
Another round.... soon we will see, who will really supply it.
I bet they (3 companies) will supply asics, the questions are, who will ship first, then wich will be the best buy |

I would guess they are going to ship right around the last day or so of november so they can say they met the november date guideline.

The low power and "underclocked" nature of the jalepeno is why they don't need a fan. People are already trying to think of ways to sup it up and cool it. |

I had a 16.4W FPGA miner board for a while (an X6500), and it sure needed a fan. Without airflow the passive heatsinks would get too hot to touch in a few minutes. The Jalapeno is supposed to draw 4.5W. |

The Jalapeno is supposed to draw 4.5W. It's not hard to cool 4.5W passively, especially in an aluminum chassis. A thermal pad between the chip and the enclosure should be more than enough. |
