this could be also true with a zero added, but as a stable price is another story

The scary thing is if bitcoin can touch $1,000-$2,000 again then it is entirely in the realm of possibility of seeing a $5,000-$10,000 coin. And again, if it does touch 5k+, it is also very possible and likely that it would reach 10k and beyond.

yeah it's an escalation, when the real pump will start i doubt any cheap price will be the target, last big ath was x12 of the initial price

x12 of what it is now, means 2500-3000 range

In the middle of the next year there will be 12.5BTC the reward for each block.
So the price normally should increase and not stay where it will be(same).
Also after 3 years there will be another deduction and 6.25BTC this affect directly the price.

I think that Bitcoin price will be either very big in 5 years or very small in 5 years.

Big part of today's price is still based on expectation that Bitcoin will be huge. This is is justified since Bitcoin does have great potential and great technology. If this potential never sees a real use in the future, than price will be pennies in 5 years. If in the other side Bitcoin gets developed as we think it can, then we will see much, much higher prices than today.

i vote 10K, that maybe my optimism but i do think with massive adoption it is perfectly possible, but we would need a crash of a FIAT, such as whats happening in greece :/

I would say Bitcoin would be worth of 10000 $ in 2020.This is fair and honest minimum price in my opinion for 1 BTC and this will be even before that date I am sure of this.

Yes this is a bit like what satoshi said. Either we will see no transactions in the future or millions of it.
There are only those 2 options. Big fail or big success. I will go for big success although a almost 24 months long bear market can be really depressing sometimes.
I repeat it again. In 2020 I believe we will see high 4 digits or low 5 digits in Bitcoin price if it should be successful as we all hope and expect.

Yes, this is how I think about price as well, looking at the Satoshi assessment. It's impossible to have a small price if we will have a lot of transactions. It will be also impossible to have big price with not too many transactions.

I am ready to bet big that we will have a lot of transactions and the big price, otherwise I wouldn't be here.

Technology improves and advances at such a high rate that an accurate prediction for the price of BTC cannot be reckoned....However, it is possible to predict, with a fair amount of accuracy, that the technology that we will have available to us in 2020 will far surpass the technology we have available to us at present.  So, with that in mind, I would be very leery of investing too much into a technology that is already ancient in relative terms.

What about a more simpler approach Smiley
There should be around $60 trillion in money on this planet.
If bitcoins gets more accepted and used in those five years and would contain 1/10000th of value of all the money in the world.
By 2020 there would be a little under 18 million bitcoins.

With those numbers in mind 1 bitcoin would have a value of $300k  Cool

What a calculation, i don't think that this even reachable, it is just to much for a single bitcoin to cost ~$300,000
If it only reach 1% of it which is ~$3,000 then that would be perfect for the bitcoin community.
It is almost 4 years until 2020 and maybe there will be another halving which means around 6.25BTC reward per block and the price maybe can reach 1,000 USD.

Did that one for the fun of it Wink not something i believe in but also not something i would rule out entirely in the long run.

We are in economy speculate board so it can be real or not.
It is just a speculating but 300k is a large amount and mostly impossible.
I think that if only 1% bitcoin price reach then that would be a success.

Somewhere between the 2nd & 3rd options in the poll - between $1000 & $10000.
I'd be happy with $5000 which I see as more realistic than $10000.

i think that in 2020 the bitcoin price cannot be more than 1000 dollars. Still, its a long way to go to see the price near this mark.

It's all about 5 years from now, and there should be maybe 2 more halving until 2020.
So the block reward will go from 25BTC to 12.5BTC then maybe to 6.25BTC
The price at least should be increased 2 times (big jumps) and it can reach 1000$

Why do you guys have such false hopes for bitcoin?
Bitcoin's value has been decreasing slowly. Just follow the trend and see where it leads!
