2 miners with less than 1TH have solved blocks on solo ckpool. Your chances are extremely low but there is almost no other way to profit with an S3 these days unless your electricity is exceptionally cheap, so solo mining is still a high stakes option.

OH YEAH!!!!!

To all the naysayers, I know it's cool to knock it but solo mining can be VERY profitable. You just have to pay your dime and take your chance. What do you have to lose? A couple of bucks of electricity? Pshaw, you'll probably spend more than that in beer anyway.

Now the question is this, should I keep this thread updated with any additional blocks? Is anyone interested?

Solo mining is alive and profitable!

Yep! I use CK as my failover. After a power failure yesterday I'm still 2 weeks behind reindexing my core.

LOL! Yeah, I know, but it was worth it for me to share with others. More people should try solo mining. It's fun if nothing else, but every once in a while BAM! You hit the big one. Thanks for providing the service. It's a great failover for solo miners everywhere.

So, how much from that is going into buying more miners?

My miner buying days are over, thank goodness. I'll be selling off a few BTC to finish paying off some debt then burying the rest in the backyard for a rainy day Cheesy

Thats nice man. Congrats!
Bitcoin mining is so hard now and I am glad that you found a block.
It costs so much and bitcoin price is still low to buy some of miners.
I never had a chance to buy or mine bitcoins. I guess its ok as most of my friends did not too even we trade some on exchange sites.

if you were to mine that same block in solo not in a pool, you would not be able to catch it, finding a block in solo is different than finding  a block in a pool, it was explained already i need to find the post

btw DrG explained it

This was solo, my friend. CK's pool is a solo pool. You don't find a block, you don't get paid. I still mine solo on my own node 99.99% of the time, but with a power loss my bitcoin-core database had to be reindexed (dumbest program ever) so for around two days I was on CK's solo pool. Now I have 25 BTC in my pocket.

I'm selling off about 10 BTC to pay off some debt, pay taxes (biggest hit, Thanks Obama!), and pay God 10%, then the rest is going in the rathole until I need it. I'll consider it a retirement account  Cheesy

Hey that's disgustingly lucky (by my own terms). Congrats. Do you throw alot of hashrate normally at solo mining?
Over here 25BTC would be like 3 years of spendable cash for me.

LOL! It was pretty lucky. I only have one S3 running solo. I did have an S3+ that was set to failover to CK's solo pool as well, but that was an oversight. He should have been hashing on a backup pool instead like the others.

Any of you guys wanting some BTC get over here and buy some of mine so I can pay off my credit card and tell them to kiss my butt!

I have 8.2 out of 10 BTC left!

Holy cow, you did it!  I posted on the first page of your thread because I use one S3+ in the summer at ck's solo pool.  Glad to know it's possible (however unlikely it may be).

I know right?!?! And it's proof positive that CK pays too. His pool is a standup operation as far as I'm concerned. Good luck with your S3+! It's a fun deal  Grin

Thanks. Considering the solo pool has handed out ~2075 BTC to date, it would be hard to get away with that much without complaint from the community Wink
