-241USD per at the moment. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty-That unit is overpriced as hell. -Your odds is a few years to one block. You'd be basically gambling. Not recommended.

That depends on your electricity cost, budget, housing location. Give me/us more information and you will get a recommendation. The S4 isint bad, just the price its listed at is. And unless you're looking for a lottery, you will have to mine in a pool.

I would solo mine with something smaller then 1400 watts. You could do it. But most of us I think would suggest against it.

Not really 0.08 is a bit high and kind of in limbo right now with the S7 coming in but being too expensive and the S5 soon to be devalued. Depending on how much extra power you get from your solar array, then you could go for S4/S5 if obtained at a good price. I'm not sure whats your true expense is on your solar array but if you have wasted electricity that you dont get to use. Go for it. There's also SP20 units and such. S5 is just easier to quiet down a bit.

More or less. I personally got more bang for buck getting a S4, on a GH/$ basis. However the S5 has 0.5~J/GH and the S4 is 0.7~J/GH. Which means per GH the S4 is less efficient. (Cost more to run per GH)
This is why what you pay for your electricity make all the difference. Over here i pay a flat rate up to a limit. So i pay nearly nothing for 2 kW, but the rate is 3~ to 5~cents per kWh for under and above 30kWh per day respectively, for residential and 3 to 2 cents per kWh for big industrial.

I'm sorry, but I want you to be successful and you won't be if you just jump in with both feet and eyes closed. The only thing you should do now is read, research, and learn. I'm not sure what you're really talking about, but for the prospect of mining in your house, that is pretty inaccurate. "Free electricity" certainly beat cheap electricity but mining on cheap electricity is very profitable. Now, if you have wifi and a way to generate air flow to dump the heat outside, go right ahead. But i would recommend using your own wifi, otherwise you might find it pretty hard to manage your miner.

Any wallet that is controlled by another source (online, another person/company) can steal your bitcoins. There is no recourse. You lose. They can also go down from time to time making it impossible for you to get to your coins. You should only use a local wallet like multibit or armory and encrypt your wallet. If you really want to be safe, research armory cold storage.

Just start with something cheap. A small stick, gpu mining alt coins, maybe even CPU mining. Use a software wallet, personally i use Multibit for BTC. SPV wallets are certainly the way to go for a new comer. Do a few transaction, figure out the value. Etc. Get a feel for it. I started my mining venture with a 560 ti on scrypt a while back.
