The opening game of the Premier league is Manchester United against Leicester City. The opening game usually have shown that the favourite will not win and I think we will see a direct first upset to Mourinho and co. Manchester United have struggled lately to show a good football and I think that they will just continue to show that pattern in the first game of the opening Premier league.
So are you suggesting that betting against Man United is good? It could be a good idea depending on the odds... I haven't checked anything yet but I would never bet anything less than a +1 at 2.50 odds especially if LCFC is away. First game at Man united home, i'm not sure leicester can win but draw is possible. I think the safe bet on this match is over corner, man united at home usually have many corners.

You are sure? the first game is really important for manchester united, especially because this is a home game and they cant afford to lose it. Any team that play as the home team will be getting advantage rather than being an away team therefore the safe bet should manchester united to win. Odds will be low but atleast it is safe

I think Man Utd will beat Leicester, I just don’t think Leicester will be able to get anything. United haven’t done that well in the transfer market this summer but they have a big, powerful squad & should have far too much quality.

They have done quite well actually but some player are not going to be playing for them. Take boateng for example, he personally phoned Mourinho just to tell him about this. Alot of sentiment regarding United's first game and alot says that leicester could win but in term quality, Manchester united is still way ahead of leicester and thats a fact

I think United should be able to pick the three points they are playing at home and they should succeed Alexis Sanchez is looking to play as Center Forward and we all know lethal is when he plays there while Leicester could play without Vardy so they will have problems breaking through also Mahrez left and his replacement morisson is doubtful to play. Are Spurs going to buy any player this summer if not they will be the first team to do that since 2003 I thought Pochettinho was given good budget for the summer after blaming Daniel Levy of not giving him the tools to win titles.

Finally the start of the Premier league. Don't expect easy win for United today, maybe 1-0. Check out my fantasy team for the first week https://imgur.com/s7xLktcI use this formation, because those are the players will most likely to start for their teams.

I haven't checked anything yet but I would never bet anything less than a +1 at 2.50 odds especially if LCFC is away. It wouldn't surprise me if they lost. If they do Mourihno might go though. I remember betting against them on their first game of the season at home to a small team a few years ago and it came in. ------- If anyone wants to join in a Cloudbet sponsored premier league prediction pool that I'm running this season please see here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4863740.0It's 0.005 to join and the prizes are as follows: The winners will be the top five users who have the highest points at the end of the season. The prizes will currently be awarded as so: 1st: 0.09 2nd: 0.04 3rd: 0.02 4th: 0.015 5th: 0.01 The prizes will be adjusted slightly if more people join. There will also be some small consolation prizes for the top 5 users who get the highest points from a weekly round, so even if it becomes apparent that you are unlikely to win as the tournament progresses you still have something to play for. Consolation prizes for the top five users who score the most from a weekly round: 1st: 0.01 2nd: 0.005 3rd: 0.005 4th: 0.005 5th: 0.005 First game is tonight so not long left if you want to join. It's really good fun and the prizes aren't bad for such a small stake.

United have a few players being rested from the World Cup, but I still can't see them finding Leicester a real challenge, especially without Mahrez and maybe Vardy. 2-0 or maybe 2-1 I reckon.

Nope... And Poch seems happy about it. I think by Daniel Levy saying that they were gonna take risks now means they're keeping their current players and not acquire anybody unless it def adds more value to their squad. I guess keeping their star players in could be considered a success.

Usually yes, but you never know how well prepared the teams are for the new season. Who would have thought before the season 2016 that Leichester will be the champion in the end. Since the odds are clear for ManU, I would put a small amount on Leichester (@ 6.4). Such a risky bet at this time of the season can pay off.

Make sure it’s a small bet if you put money on Leicester because I can see Man Utd winning fairly comfortably tonight.

Being the very first match of the new season and knowing Mourinho's style of play, I am thinking of betting on no goals scored in the first half @ 3.00 odds. I think the game is likely going to start in classic Mourinho fashion - by semi-parking the bus I also like both teams to score @ 2.10, but I don't know if the teams are in top form after the break and if there will be first squad players missing. Perhaps both teams will want to get a feel of playing a league match again after the summer break and won't play very aggressively on the attack.

It is always thrilling when Premier league is about to start and this opening game should be beautiful to watch on TV. I think that Manchester United needs to win this game against Leicester City which I haven't seen them very active during summer. The quality of the teams is different but Manchester United never showed it in full power last season.

Same old, same old then. Didn’t take them long to get a dodgy penalty. By my calculations it was 75 seconds.

It was a totally legitimate penalty, mate. The Leicester player deliberately handled the ball, he had enough time to avoid it and you can clearly see how he reached with his hand for the ball. I think there's no doubt it was the right call. Leicester only have themselves to blame for that goal.

Indeed Also as per my expectation for united, it seems they managed to seal this first game of the season. 2 goals without conceded in the home game is a good start, I wouldnt say that this is their best performance because compared with last season they are so much better in the last season but atleast this is a good start from them edit : oh fuck, conceded at the last minute. 2-1 final score. Lame defence from united, damnit

Manchester United managed to get another goal in the 83rd minute, giving them a 2-0 lead over Leicester City. Luke Shaw slotting in his first goal. But Leicester has scored a goal injury time to make the scoreline 2-1. Without that penalty, the game would have looked different.

A difficult and important win for Uinted but it's the start they needed, a loss could or a draw could mean some trouble between media fans and Mourinho the faith in Mourinho is already down but the modest performance with the possibility of improvement better than high performance and then deceive the level of the team that happened last season when after couple of games both city and United were at top and tied in everything some will say that Leicester shouldn't lose this game they played in good level but their lack of final touch due Keeping Vardy in bench but honestly the way Mourinho played is what made them win the game true parking the bus is not entertaining to watch but it gets results.
