in his first season he didn't get a lot to achieve he spent a lot unlike Conte whom only bought Kante Marcos Alonso and Luiz for less then 100M Euros and transfer a broken team to a champion in a year but this season he made a lott of mistakes While Guardiola continued his spending spree with other teams still struggling to build the teams they need he went for a record winning spree mostly with luck because Many of those games were won in the last couple minutes with the help of Sterling that what made difference this season for him. Manchester City has indeed found its best performance since it was handled by Pep last season. However, the glorious Manchester City in the Premier League has not been proven because in UCL match they still have not met with strong teams from La Liga, Serie A, Bundes Liga, and others. I admit that Manchester City is a strong and wealthy team that is currently in the Premier League but I'm not sure if Pep's side can easily defeat strong teams from other leagues.

Everyone would expect to see arsenal and atletico Madrid at the Europa league final, it's the most ideal final isn't it? Considering arsenal have a deadly strikers like lacazette and aubameyang , they should win something. League table of English premier league shows how struggle they are in the league, Europa league would be the priority.

I can't say that Guardiola succeeded with Manchester City because in the UCL match they have not met with other strong teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and others. If Guardiola and Manchester City can beat all the club then I can say that Guardiola is the most successful manager in the world of football.

One of the users said "of course they will spend if they want to win big"..... but there are spending and Spending. They are Spending. Their owners wanted success (and probably to launder money) over-night. The sums that the likes of PSG and Manchester City spend are ridiculous. And although I respect some of the managers (Guardiola, Mourinho) for being able to coordinate a team full of stars (each of those players would be a big star in a minor team, even those sitting on the bench or even in the stands), I still cannot consider a manager great if he never had a success with the club whose circumstances we could describe as normal or complicated.

I would enforce salary cap (not that poor attempt made by Platini) and something similar to drafting system they have in the USA. It is a great system and besides preventing money laundering and overpaid transfers it is also enabling the shift of power every few years (the team that was on the bottom has a chance to use strategy to get to the top.... in the European football that is impossible because everything is about the money). The system in the USA is not perfect - the salaries are too big with so many starving people out there, but it is much fairer and the competitions are much more interesting.

Yeah and look at where they are now that their luck ran out.  They had their 'Leicester year' and that was that.  Watch that whole season again and you'll see that they were statistically way above the mean in getting their shots in, exactly like Leicester in their championship season.  Luck played a big role in it.

If this game was played 20 days ago, I would say that Chelsea has no chance of getting trough. In the meantime they have managed to put out 2 good performances so maybe they can get something from this first game. However, in my mind Barcelona is still overwhelming favorite to pass trough the next stage. For Chelsea to have any chance they need at least 2 goals in this first game vs. Barcelona defense which has only conceded 1 goal in first 6 Champions League matches this season. We always watch Barcelona trough their attacking prowess but this season they have strengthened the defense as well.

Yeah, it's really the only match worth watching tonight and I'll be ignoring all the single bets for the Bayern game (@1.1 for ML and only @1.9 for over 3 goals?).

Barca's unbeaten in La Liga and Chelsea have had a torrid year so far but this match should see both leave their domestic form back in their leagues, the Champions League is always a different beast. It will be so tight and Chelsea's style will be much more comfortable with dealing with Spain's best at the moment, but I'm counting on Suarez to deliver the goods from Messi's magic.

I think the match will be won by Barcelona. Disadvantages of the statistics that are owned by Barcelona against Chelsea is Lionel Messi who never break the Chelsea goalkeeper.
