I am very happy to welcome Napoli's victory over Fiorentina and they really deserved it. Fiorentina played quite well, but every time they got a chance they failed to score a goal. Like when they got a penalty kick but Fiorentina failed to do it and Napoli had to concede after that. Osimhen's absence doesn't seem to be a problem for Napoli and they are firmly on their way to the semifinals of the Supercoppa Italiana.

Now it seems that Napoli are slowly starting to improve even without Osimhen. Which means this club can reduce their dependence on their mainstay striker, Osimhen.

We all know Jose Mourinho is not a coach to stay jobless and without a team for a long time, he usually gets interesting offers and even if they fired him from Roma but still, he is still close to joining another team.
Mourinho's agent, Jorge Mendes started talking about this coach with Aurelio De Laurentiis and there is a high possibility of seeing an agreement between Aurelio De Laurentiis and Mourinho which means Mourinho can be the next coach for Napoli.
Since they lost Luciano Spalletti they couldn't find a good coach and maybe Mourinho can save them from this situation.

I really believe that Mourinho will not take over the coach position of Napoli. Because I don't need to be a coach or an expert to see that Napoli will continue to fall down. They will lose their star players in the next summer or two more seasons so if Mourinho joins Napoli, he will have to rebuild that club from nearly beginning. Even Napoli can spend more money for transfer market than Roma, it is not a situation Mourinho wants to be in.

Rumor is Mourinho is waiting for an offer from Newcastle United to return to Premier League and I see it is a highest bid for his future now.

Yes Napoli can prove that they have the ability even though they play without Osimhen. If Napoli can play like this in the League maybe they can still be in the top 4 or maybe they still have a chance to defend the trophy. But somehow Napoli never played consistently and more often waste opportunities in every easy game. If it is only for a top four position by the end of this season, I think Napoli still have the ability to do it as long as there is improvement in the way they play in the League and there is also a good level of consistency in each upcoming game. Winning a landslide win in the Italian Super Cup should be more encouraging for Napoli when they are starting to return to action in Serie A this season.

This match is not a problem to Napoli to win with or without Osimehn’s presence. They’ve shown that they can do without him in some matches but I believe it won’t be in all matches. A three goals difference in this match that gave them a victory was well deserved for them. Fiorentina is a smaller team compared to Napoli. In their last five encounters, Napoli have won three matches, drew one and loss one to them. This has shown a clear record that Napoli is not their match and they’ll win them again and again if they harping to meet again this season.

And talking about rankings in the league, Fiorentina is currently in 4th place in the standings and Napoli is in 8th place with a difference of only 3 points. It wasn't a big difference even though the rankings were a little far off. The next match is Fiorentina vs Inter Milan and I think it is very likely that Fiorentina will lose. Atalanta, Lazio and Bologna have a big chance of passing Fiorentina after the 21st match.

This could possibly happen if Jose Mourinho still wants to coach another team in Serie A and does not intend to move to another league, if an agreement can be reached by both parties. To be honest, I'm not too sure about the coach that Napoli currently has because after firing Rudi Garcia and replacing him with Walter Mazzari, Napoli continues to experience decline, not improvement, Napoli fans are very worried about Napoli's current performance, especially when facing the last 16 of the Champions League and their opponents are quite I really think Jose Mourinho could be a good choice considering he has more experience than Mazzari.

I know but I believe it is a reason on tip of iceberg and there is no coincidence for that investigation against Juventus. It happened after Super League seemed to come closely to activation day. It is also not coincidence that after got the serious punishment, Juventus announced that they left Super League.

From my understanding of the investigation, it happened way earlier than the Super League scandal while the punishments were given near when the scandal broke out[1]. They released the statement arguing that the previous punishment was unfair IIRC, hence why they managed to wiggle out from getting a 15-point deduction[2]. A few months after is when they released another statement saying they would quit the Super League. Regardless of whether there is pressure from Seria A to force them to quit or not, what they did can be investigated publicly since the deal was already done (related to player swap etc). Other leagues seem to be quite direct in that they promise to ban any club from participating in the national league if they join the Super League iirc.

Newcastle can be a good place for him assuming he got the players he wanted. A mid-table club that has a good deal amount of money, assuming they can bypass the FFP somehow. That being said, if the fans are not happy with counter-attacking football and want something more like what they've seen from their current head coach, he probably won't last long unless he brings results like some FA/Carabao Cup. Personally, though, I'd suggest Mourinho join punditry instead. Seems like he can do that job quite well with his persona.

It is interesting to see that stats-wise they are not that different. 3 points difference is quite fair considering how close their offensive and defensive results are. Not really surprising since clubs other than the top 3 beat each other quite often[3].

Fiorentina was very unsuccessful in taking advantage of opportunities. If he had scored a goal in the first half of the match, we would have watched a very different end of the match. we may not know whether Roma will be successful under De Rossi but from the upcoming match we can at least see clear evidence that Roma can beat Verona with a big score at home, meaning De Rossi has little influence on Roma performance but if Roma losing or only winning by a narrow score, I'm quite sure that De Rossi still needs time.
I never doubt anyone's coach before playing a few matches, but after reaching 5 matches, Roma doesn't get any improvement or even experiences a drastic decline. I will guarantee that Roma will fail to get a ticket to the UCL or the european league.

In this match, Fiorentina actually attacked more than Napoli. However, the problem is that in terms of utilization it is still very lacking. Starting from goals that ended offside, to penalty kicks, all failed to become goals. Yesterday, Napoli won their game in the semi-final 3-0 against Florenze. The first team in the final, and if Inter Milan win today (which I think they will) then it will be a nice final. Inter Milan against SSC Napoli, last seasons cup winners against last seasons Serie A champions. This year it could go the other way, but I think Inter Milan will win Serie A and the Supercoppa. Lazio Rom have had a good run, winning all of their last 5 games. The last game between the two teams was in December 2023 and Inter Milan won that 2-0. So, like you, I would bet on Inter today.

The absence of Osimhen in the team because he has to play for Nigeria in AFCON isn't a problem for Napoli, this is proven by the results of Napoli's match this time, they managed to beat Fiorentina even with a clean sheet.

There is no doubt that Inter Milan will be the favorites in today's Supercoppa Italia semi-final match. Because we can't expect much from Lazio this season. That's true but there is still no guarantee that it will work out under those conditions. Now I think you are specifically referring to players who played for their club and then also become a coach of that club. The identification level is high, but still it doesn't make a good coach yet. Not every player is born to be a great coach. You can see all kinds of examples and it doesn't always have to be the club they were raised in when they take over the coaching position. Xabi Alonso is doing an incredible job, Steven Gerrard is losing all his credibility. Wayne Rooney is a diificult case in my opinion. I think he really wants to but lacks some charisma or something.

There are no successful Premier League players who have become great coaches, but there are many players who play in a La Liga team who have become successful coaches. Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Vincent Kompany are some of the players who are currently coaches, but all of them are not great coaches. Maybe it's a bit different from players who are former Serie A and La Liga players, some of them are successful coaches who have won many titles so far.

Indeed, there is no guarantee that a former player who coaches his club can bring much success to his club. Pep Guardiola and Luis Erique are two Barcelona coaches who were successful as Barcelona coaches. Carlo Ancelotti and Zinédine Zidane are two successful coaches with Real Madrid, but Ancelotti was also successful with his former team AC Milan.

Yesterday, Napoli won their game in the semi-final 3-0 against Florenze. The first team in the final, and if Inter Milan win today (which I think they will) then it will be a nice final. Napoli played really well on there match against Florenze they actually did not give Florenze a breathing space and they dominated the match from the beginning to the end of the match however I did not believe Jonathan Ikone will miss the penalty he did but however they were able to put more efforts on there scoring performance by wining Florenze 3-0 and qualifying from the semi finals. However is actually obvious that Inter Milan will win Lazio because there is no way we can compare the both teams in times of performance when we no how good Inter Milan has been on this season, so actually is certain that Inter Milan and Napoli will be meeting each other on the finals.

Inter Milan without doubt have been the best Italian team since the start of the season and that's why I perfectly understand it when people think that it'll not be easy for Juventus to overtake them in the league table. The knockout stages of the UEFA champions league competition returns next month and until then, Inter Milan are solely involved in domestic games as well as their rivals Juventus. However, let's not forget that Inter Milan are currently leading the league table by just two points and that means that if they for any reason losses any game and Juventus wins, Juventus will automatically overtake them.

So there's every possiblity that Juventus might be leading the league table even before the return of the UEFA champions league though it'll be very difficult for that to happen

Daniele De Rossi is preparing for his first game with Roma which is tomorrow evening. This can be one of the things I'm waiting for excitedly in the Serie A these days. Because Roma were managed by Mourinho for a really long time period. They were successful with him in European tournaments like the Conference League.

However Mourinho couldn't fulfil the board's expectations in the Serie A which must be the main reason why they parted ways with him. If De Rossi manages to make progress here as well then his contract would probably be extended by a year.

I don't understand why they think a player like De Rossi can have a good performance in Roma, they had a good coach like Jose Mourinho in the team and this coach was famous because of the good knowledge he had but in the end, they couldn't have good performance with Mourinho and now Roma decided to trust De Rossi while he is not experienced at all.
De Rossi was definitely a good and famous player but there is no guarantee to say he can also be a good coach for Roma to save them from this situation.
