So when Roma made these bad moves, they ended up getting into debt as well so they can't just end up getting whoever they want, there is both a FFP deal that they need to consider but also at the same time they need to realize that they are dealing with not having enough money as well, even with FFP allowed, sometimes teams can't afford to get better players.

Roma tried their best to build a team, spent some money on these players, and they ended up getting players who did not played as well as they hoped they would. So, it's quite important to realize that Roma will do badly this season, and gradually in 2-3 seasons they will recover and start doing better as well. This isn't a single year deal, they need to figure out over course of few seasons.

This is so true, Roma isn't good enough for the top places even with their best squad and that is why they are doing badly this season, I am not expecting them to do that great at all and we should be expecting them to do a bit worse. Of course it is not really that complicated to see them doing this badly, because they failed to get a good team. Looking at the values of the teams, Roma looks to be sixth best team in the league at transfermarkt, but when you see the drop, you will see that the momentum is going down and that is the reason why we are not seeing them doing that greatly.

Lazio looks 9th for example but they are much better and gaining momentum. I believe in reality Roma should worth something like 10th to be fair, that would be more realistic and they could end up being 10th at the end of the season as best case, anything higher doesn't look like it would be a possibility at all. Ranieri isn't good enough to make them do better.
