Leverkusen in my eyes is not even close to being a championship team.
In their recent run of good games only the win against Bayern was actually a quality win (they als only won by 2 penalties) . Winning against Hertha, Schalke, Bremen is not so hard this season, Ferencvaros is also just a team from a small league.

There are plenty of teams that are stronger than Leverkusen, that's why even though they won their last 5 games in the league they are still just in 6th place with 15 points behind the top.

Actually they played very well, I mean they looked great, they moved well on the field and attacked a lot, but they scored too few goals and conceded a lot. Do not forget that Saint-Gilloise beat Union Berlin in the previous round, so it would be foolish to underestimate this opponent. But I agree Bayer looks great now and they are favorites in this pair. Leipzig and Freiburg are the teams fighting for the fourth spot in the standings now. There is a quite competitive race there by the way as the gap is only one point.
However things can get much more interesting if Leverkusen manage to catch up with them more. A gap of five points isn't impossible to be closed. Actually they played very well, I mean they looked great, they moved well on the field and attacked a lot, but they scored too few goals and conceded a lot. I agree with you. The performance from Leverkusen has only been satisfactory since Matchday 23. Until Matchday 14 everyone were worried that they might even have to fight against relegation. I think they will be at palce 6 or 5 at the end of this season.  But even that wil not be easy for them. There a still Frankfurt, Mainz and Woflsburg. I still see a chance that these teams can reach place 6 at the end of this season.

Before we speculate too far, at least see how Leverkusen carry out their matches on the Europa League stage. as you said, Leverkusen will be busy with several matches that are quite crucial. meaning, Xavi Alonso's attention will be divided on two different competitions. Plus, they have problems with several players getting injured. that means, it is not easy for Leverkusen to maintain their consistency. both in the Bundesliga, and in the Europa League.

Today, Leverkusen will host Saint Gilloise at BayArena, their own home ground. quite a tough match, considering that Union SG was previously able to provide fierce resistance to Union Berlin. in this match, Leverkusen was tested with its consistency. Maybe some of you will say it is early to make sure of anything but I still think Manchester City have already finished off Bayern Munich in the Champions League. It is really difficult for Bayern Munich to make a comeback from that. Yeah they are still Bayern Munich but I don't see a player like Lewandowski who can play an important role to give some hope to the team about that task. Manchester City just need to throw their chance in a very cheap way by a bad defending which I don't have any expectation for.

Now there is some news about a rift from Internal Madrid due to this quite a striking defeat which made them seem to be divided between several players.
Now Bayern needs to make several schemes in this match so that it can be applied in the second leg later.

That seems to be a pretty big happening now in the world of sports in Germany. I watched some sportsnews tv channel today and they pretty much reported non stop about that incident for at least 2 hours straight, even though nothing new really happened. To be honest i was pretty surprised, that Mane would do such a thing because he was always considered as such a nice and gentle guy, that is always smiling and also helping the people in his country and so on.
Seems like he is way more unhappy with his current role in the club that most people have guessed.

It's really regrettable what Mane did to Sane in the locker room. I even saw the clash between the two on the field during the match against Manchester City in the Champions League. It can be seen how Mane was very annoyed because of the lack of communication with Sane, maybe that was what triggered the two of them to finally fight and Mane hit Sane in the face.
