Looking at the odds, especially when Bayern are playing at home, I wouldn't say their chances are 50/50 because, after all, Bayern are now the favorites, although everything depends on their performance on the field. However, in terms of probability, Bayern are clearly still at a significant advantage at the moment.

I think that even though this is the first match and it's a big game, when you look at Bayern's progress with strong probabilities and playing at home, their hopes for 3 points in this match are very high.

That game was more than easy for Bayern Munich, because they were already 3-0 up in the first half. When I checked the statistics, I was surprised to see that Leipzig had not even had a single shot on target, nor even a goal. This means Bayern Munich are stronger than the previous season, and it’s just as you mentioned that they gained more than they lost in the summer, which is a bigger advantage to them this season. Personally, I think Bayern's (and Dortmund's) participation in the Fifa Club World Cup gives them a slight advantage at the beginning of the season, as they had a much shorter players' holiday break, meaning the team might already be in the normal match rhytm, whereas other clubs would still need some time to get there. But it could backfire later in the season as the risk of fatigue will be much greater.
