Yeah, Xhaka and his agent are also doing the same, making these rumors even deeper and making fans truly worried about Leverkusen, which is increasingly losing its key players. However, Bayer Leverkusen has emphasized that Xhaka will remain at Leverkusen and will be part of Ten Hag's squad. They have already lost three important and key players, and Granit Xhaka is a leader here, so they will keep him.
Source: Granit Xhaka
I really hope that Xhaka stay in Leverkusen even they have written that he wil be part of the Squad and Team.
Losing him also will be for sure a big thing and it could be the end of Leverkusen.

However, we cannot underestimate the Bundesliga, because it is still one of the most competitive leagues in Europe,
even though it is not as intense as the Premier League in terms of pressure and team competition,
Slowly the German League are catching up with other ones and more Teams getting the chance for the international competitions.

Still been disappointed at Leverkusen at this time may mean you had a very huge expectation from them and you probably esteemed the preseason game to a good extent but then it is possible same is not what Leverkusen was about or that particular game,  Leverkusen may ha e seen that game as just training and helping their opponent gain confidence when they go back to play at their level.  It may surprise you to know that some of the Leverkusen players may even be at their best and will be really in their best form waiting for the season to commence and have just used that game to warm up.

And Leverkusen is an amazing club, and they can do extraordinary, so there is a lot for Ten Hag to do because when they are not serious because if the club is not serious, then they will not do well, and all the blame is going to be on Ten Hag. and when a club have confidence then it goes a long way for the club. After all, when things are out of place for a club, because when a club has self-esteem, then it helps the club to also go a long way, and Leverkusen needs to do more if they want to stand out. After all, they need to be serious, and we already know the kind of club that Leverkusen is they have the stamina; they just need to put in more effort because they are the defending champions

Leverkusen conceded 5 goals against a small team like Flamengo U20. We have not seen Leverkusen lose by such a big margin in the last 2 seasons. Many people  will say that this is a friendly match, this match is not important , yes undeniable , it is not an important match. So Leverkusen will concede 5 goals against e small team? This is a shameful defeat for Leverkusen.  I do not like Ten Hag at all as a coach. I have seen him turn Manchester United into a ruin. It is foolish to expect that Leverkusen will do anything good next season with Ten Hag.
It is an embarrassing result for Ten Hag and his team for allowing themselves to be trashed by Flamengo U20 team, this is a youth team we are talking about. It might not be an important game but Such results are not good for the team morale especially before the season kicks off. It is obvious they need to improve and do better next season, Ten Hag also needs to prove Manchester United wrong for sacking him by getting good results next season.

Getting flogged by Flamengo U21 a few days ago was just a prelude of what is to come. Xhaka knows Leverkusen is finished with ETH at the club, and that's why he wants out before it's too late. Another thing is that he's not fighting to move to a bigger club, as most players would do. He's fighting to go to Sunderland, which Leverkusen is obviously bigger than. That tells me he's desperate about leaving and does not want to stick around when the ship starts sinking.

I think Eric Ten Hag knows better than where he is falling due to his performance in Manchester United. He is under the huge criticism. He needs to do well for himself just to raise his image positively that is now under discussion in a very negative way. Bayern leverkusen is a good team and it is expected that Eric ten Hag will give his Hundred percent to the team in the sense to re build his image. But the results of pre-season are very disappointing and again set the minds of fans where he left at Manchester United.  I think now he is not more trustworthy and he completely fails to prove himself as a good coach. And i don't think he will again receive any chance anywhere. Because this was a golden chance for him.

Some times a player can be good but his character is one thing that can cause problems between him and the coach and Sancho is one player that is a good example of that he should try and bring down his head so that he will not have problem with Coaches
For internal issues like this, players and coaches can usually find a wiser approach to resolve them more openly. This avoids the need for stubbornness in justifying themselves, which can lead to further problems within the team. And if the team no longer wants a player like Sancho, I think they can sell him for a price that's more affordable to other teams. Other teams interested in signing Sancho will certainly accept his offer if the price isn't too high for Sancho.

I actually do not see it as embarrassing enough,  I even feel it has some intentionality in it, maybe they used that to get the team ready for the season and they actually did not take that game serious enough to want to win, in as much as I will not want to judge this game, I still think Ten Hag has to improve with his tactics and his technicalities so that by the actual season he will be able to get the team in their best form and get team in their best form to be able  to deliver the kind of results and possibly win trophies as expected of them.

While friendlies are sometimes not a benchmark, being beaten so heavily by U21 players is certainly a blow, and Ten Hag must be prepared for the criticism, as that's a natural outcome.

He's had enough criticism from all sides at Manchester United, and he should be more careful in his strategy, even in friendlies, because a single mistake could have a significant impact on his future career.
It was only the first match, and I think we're aware that tomorrow they'll play their second friendly. Hopefully, Ten Hag doesn't make the same mistakes as before. If he loses again by such a significant score, I'm pretty sure we'll have serious doubts about his ability as a coach and Xabi Leverkusen's replacement before the season starts.

Ten Hag is still adapting, and the preseason results shouldn't be taken too seriously, but they shouldn't have lost 5-1 to a mediocre club. Because of Ten Hag previous poor managerial record with Manchester United, people tend to immediately judge him with harsh criticism. In my opinion, Ten Hag still needs to experiment a lot to build a solid team, as Xabi Alonso did before him.

Ten Hag performance can only be seriously assessed when Leverkusen kick off the new season in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFB-Pokal, and I'm confident Leverkusen performance will be even better than their preseason. Ten Hag focus currently seems to be on the transfer market, as Leverkusen appears to be working on strengthening their squad to build better depth.

I don't see no intentionality in losing a game to Flamengo U-21 regardless of the fact that it wasn't a competitive game. Not taking the game serious doesn't mean that they should lose to an inexperienced team but if Erik Ten Hag in reality didn't want to win the game, then I think he's not mentally ready to have a good debut campaign with the former German champions. Xabi Alonso during his spell at Bayer Leverkusen have set the stage high for any manager who'll succeed him and if Ten Hag fails to match or better his records, he'll likely be seen as a failure which is why I think he should do anything possible to help the team improve especially in their mentality.

Winning friendly games might not count as a significant result but it sure has a way of improving the winning mentality of the players so it's important to get results in such games especially for a manager that just arrived a new club.

Bayern Munich is currently going after a LW signing. It is their main focus that I can say. Luis Díaz is already their primary target you know. But they will have to pay a huge amount for him if they are insistent on it (more than 70 million euros).

Malick Fofana seems to be their backup plan. I saw a rumour linking him with them in this month. It wouldn't be too difficult to get him while Lyon is in desperate condition financially. But for now, they are sticking to Plan A which is Díaz...
I think it's too early for Diaz to split out with Liverpool, he still has a speed and consistent, although Liverpool have Gakpo, but Gakpo isn't as fast as him. If Gakpo failed, they only have Ekitike left, we don't even know how his performance with Liverpool.

Malick Fofana got some potential, but he's not ready to play as a starter.

Liverpool will release Diaz to acquire Alexander Isak. Liverpool may not lower the price too much if Munich is indeed interested and submits the next offer. Barcelona, which was originally also interested in Diaz, has already backed down after finding other options. Munich may also shift its interest to other players if Liverpool remains firm on their decision to sell him at that price. If the situation gets closer, Liverpool may accept Munich's offer to get Alexander Isak. But who knows, let's just follow the developments.

Right now Newcastle United has already rejected the €120m offer made by Liverpool for their player Isak now Liverpool Isak will have to lower the price of their player
Diaz for them to be able to complete his deal with Bayern Munich because if the deal doesn't work out I doubt if Liverpool will like to have Isak and Diaz together.

It's embarrassing for a big squad like Bayer Leverkusen to suffer from such a terrible defeat at the hands of Flamengo U20. After the outcome of the game, I started having doubts if Erik Ten Hag is capable enough to lead Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the German Bundesliga season. I was also thinking if Erik Ten Hag plans on using the same Strategy as Manchester United former head coach for Bayer Leverkusen. The season haven't started and Ten Hag teams just lost to flamengo u20. I wonder what will happen when the the man season begins. Erik Ten hag should work on his tactics if he really wants to secure his jobs at Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Bayer Leverkusen has emphasized that Xhaka will remain at Leverkusen and will be part of Ten Hag's squad.
I really hope that Xhaka stay in Leverkusen even they have written that he wil be part of the Squad and Team.
Losing him also will be for sure a big thing and it could be the end of Leverkusen.
Exactly, he's one of the talented defensive midfielders. He also plays central midfield. While he's not exactly a top-tier player, Granit Xhaka's contribution to Leverkusen so far has been quite impressive and profitable. His contract also runs until 2028.

Isn't most of the line-ups U20 for Leverkusen too? Eh, I don't know, I wouldn't put too much into one game of pre-season. I remember seeing other clubs perform terribly at friendly games, but can win games comfortably when the season starts. He may be experimenting with the squad to see which player can do this or that. No harm's done even if they lost 20-0 anyway, especially if the players understand the goal of the match is to try and practice new tactics.

Since announcing Erik Ten Hag as headcoach, we've seen quite alot happening and I must confess, there's very sign of weakness for Bayer Leverkusen. On a second thought, Defeats is not a bad thing rather its seen as one a little bit of setback inother to boost the morale of the team to bounce back. Bayer Leverkusen doesn't seem ready for this current season based on their current form. Who's Flamengo that Leverkusen would lose to? Common brother even though it's a friendly clash, I don't expect such huge goal margin coming from Flamengo. However let's be positive and trust the new administration of Erik Ten Hag.
How do you know there's a sign of weakness at Bayern Leverkusen? For your information, since the German Bundesliga season is yet to start, we can't really tell if there's a sign of weakness at Bayern Leverkusen, and if you are using the performance of Bayern Leverkusen against Flamengo U20 to say that there's a sign of weakness at Bayern Leverkusen, know that Bayern Leverkusen used their under-19 players to play that match, and you can't use a preseason match to judge a club because a preseason match is just like training that a coach uses to figure out his starting eleven.

They started with 5 senior players and 6 academy players, after Flamengo scored 5 goals, Ten Hag substitutes the players become 10 senior players and one academy player, unfortunately they didn't able to score any goal. Tongue

It might be okay if they lost against equal team, but they lost against academy players who played in lower league.

I think we will see Leverkusen finish below 10th rank or they sacked the manager at middle of season. Grin

Diaz remains Bayern Munich's top priority this season, and they have submitted a formal bid for Diaz, but Liverpool rejected the bid because the money Bayern Munich offered for Diaz wasn't close to the price Liverpool wants to sell Diaz for. I believe since Liverpool needs money to finance the deal of Isak, they will lower Diaz's price a little bit so that it can be easy for Bayern Munich to sign him, and Liverpool, on the other hand, will sign Isak from Newcastle United.

Yes, I agree. Preseason friendlies are used by the manager to test certain players. However, such a defeat doesn't suit the Bayer Leverkusen name. I believe they could be close to the top of the Bundesliga next year. It's questionable how close they can be to winning the title against Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich is currently feeling more motivated after a fantastic year. For Leverkusen, this will be a season that requires flawless play and a flawless run of matches. It's also a new challenge for the manager to prove himself in Europe once again.

Pre-season games are not a true reflection of the strength of a team. Coaches are always experimental during these games which makes them prone to error. Players are tested to enable the coach to know how to use them. Players are also advised to avoid injuries so they might not give their best. It could also be a strategy against opponents in the coming seasons. Clubs might underrate Bayer Leverkusen because of the outcome of the game against Flamengo U20, which could be an advantage. Some clubs won all their preseason games, but they didn't do well in the main season. Let's wait and see what Erik Ten Hag would do with his boys.

Ten Hag has already been criticized and the fans have not welcomed him to the role of the club, but have criticized him. In this case, it will be difficult for the manager to handle all this and do his job well at Leverkusen. If Leverkusen loses early or drops points in some easy matches under him, he will be criticized even more and this will hinder him from managing the team well. There is no doubt that if he continues to do poorly, Leverkusen will not wait a whole season to change him, but may even fire him mid-season. However, for now, the management is hoping that Ten Hag can maintain their normal performance even if he cannot improve the club. There is not much time left until the new season starts and only then will we know how effective he really is for the club.

It's normal for a new manager to adapt to a new team and a new league. But as you said, Ten Hag had a really bad track record at Manchester United. He also couldn't handle press conferences, and I often saw clips of Ten Hag blaming others or certain circumstances for the team's losses. He also made some controversial decisions, like releasing De Gea and buying Onana. Yes, his reputation at Manchester United was really bad. But on the other hand, some people said it wasn't entirely Ten Hag's fault, as United's form was also declining. But the defeat to the U-21 team will certainly raise a lot of doubts among fans. They will try to compare Ten Hag and Alonso in the future.
