What is happening in Bayer Leverkusen is what you get when a team decides to prioritize money over the well being of the club. Bayer Leverkusen was doing very well during the time of Xabi Alonso as the manager but everything changed when they decided to sell their players after winning the league instead of to keep them to strengthen the team more. Right now they can't challenge Bayern Munich in the league so winning the league will be very far from them hence forth.

Everything started as of Xabi Alonso's departure and some star players of them also left after. As a result we have a much weaker team despite the most recent transfers... 

They couldn't even qualify for the Champions League. This is just a serious downgrade for them. Maybe they would improve a little bit more by finishing as 4th or 3rd next time. But I don't expect to see them in any title race soon.

Bayern Munich fans filled the stands once again. The biggest disappointment for Bayern this year was their failure in the Champions League.

This season was already over for the rest of the Bundesliga clubs not only Leverkusen because Bayern Munich clearly dominated the league this season from the beginning to the last days and I don’t really see any of those Bundesliga teams having a chance against Bayern Munich winning the league at the expense of Bayern. Bayern Munich seem to have learned the hard way the previous season that Leverkusen won the league in style, they knew they can’t allow such to happen again especially not just soon again and they started the season well and finished it well too but I know their only regrets will be not reaching the champions league finals.

One of the lessons for Kompany is to realize the mistakes in strategy and tactics when facing teams with equal strength. Maybe there is some regret, but I’m pretty sure Kompany has already taken notes on all the mistakes that need to be fixed to perform better next season. As long as the Bayern Munich squad stays mostly unchanged, their chances will still be very strong next season, and they probably only need a few better defenders to improve the team even more.

Despite this, Leverkusen usually competes for a top 4 finish, but this season they only managed to finish in the top 6. Leverkusen  performance is indeed worse than last season, only securing a Europa League spot, unlike last season second place finish and Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, Dortmund appears to be improving again and is a challenger to Bayern Munich. Unfortunately, Dortmund is not as strong as Bayern Munich, only managing to finish second this season.

Leverkusen have an average team and they obtained average results during an average season. I am not surprised at all. I think many of you are still thinking about the Leverkusen that managed to win the Bundesliga a few years ago: well, that was once in a lifetime season where everything worked like clockwork. They also lost important players during these years.

This actually reminds me of the Monaco in the Ligue 1, when they had the best players that could win them the Ligie 1 cup and reached the Champions League semifinals which was a great fit for the club in its history. You could see the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Falcao and may other uprising players but that was short-lived after they sold these players the following season. You can see them struggling right now, and are outside the top 6 in the Ligue 1 table.

Leverkusen had more communication on the pitch rather than big players. These players understood themselves on the pitch and remained unbeaten for the longest time until the loss against Atlanta. It was their best season and a moment that would go down memory lane.

We had already seen the victory of this league title before the end of this league, which was achieved by Bayern Munich with their good performance. They have won 28 matches and drawn 5 in which their performance has been quite good and strong. In all of them, Bayern Munich has its own record and their strength is clear from here. We will see them similarly strong in the next season, but at the same time they will have to play well in the second leagues where they have made mistakes.

Bayer Leverkusen lost their chance to pick the fourth place to Stuttgart when they failed to beat Hamburg. It wasn't that hard. Hoffenheim defeat against M'Gladbach was heavy and didn't allow them to pass too.
In the other end of the table, St Pauli and Heidenheim left officially 1.Bundesliga and moved to the 2.Bundesliga while Wolfsburg still has a chance to stay after going through relegation play-offs. Less than two hours to know their opponent and who joined Schalke in 1.Bundesliga.

Qualifying for the champions league has not been a problem to Dortmund for some seasons now, their biggest challenge I think has remained with been able  to contend for the title, they seem to have failed at it on multiple  try as Bayern Munich always bags the title.
I did not watch this fixture against Bremen when it was played but I know Dortmund was not willing to end the season on a poor note by loosing their last game, I expected a win from them and now not seeing it as much surprise that they won.

They'll try to do better next season, most especially with fixing their defenders. They did have a beautiful game against PSG but the PSG manager made sure he had his errors corrected for the next game.
