When this happens then you should move the coins as fast as possible on a safe address you control. If you have the same address someone other has then there is a chance that a third person has the same. And he might steal it. So pushing it to a safe address is the first step.

Sending it back is not a good idea since you never know where you send it and who controls it. Might be the sender can't access the coins because he sent form an exchange or so.

I would wait until the sender sends me a signature showing me that he really is the owner of the coins. I would help him doing that.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

I would wait the sender claim it with signed message! Before I send it back, I will check the public media or here, are there hacks or stealing related to this 50BTC? I will return it to the true owner!

I will returned back! Why should I keep the money which doesn't belong to me? I will feel embarrassed if I do that!

It's pretty obvious actually. Just keep it and if no one is contacting you about the transaction/transfer.

Hold it and wait until the bitcoin value rises like 2013, around 1k$ per btc!  Grin

I don't think a scammer would send you 50 BTC. How would you ever be able to prove it was them. Is this 50btc receiving classified as theft if I keep it?

I would require a signed message from the address before I thought about sending 90% of the funds back. Nobody works for nothing and the holding and tracking the sender is my time which costs so I hope the sender would understand. I would like to say I would leave it to the sender to tip me after sending 100% but I wouldn't  Shocked
