@beffje: lucky you! you did not get a used dusty unit! looks nice, nice pics!

Does it have the slightly whinny noise, because of the original 25mm fan in 38mm case? only at high rpm should be noticeable

Yeah try 50 % and 593

What you running yours at Phil?

556 and 55%  but I have 2 in a small room  which is too hot due to warm weather in NJ.   79f yesterday 60f overnight.

once temp drops  to 50 f outside  I can go to 593 and 45-50%

Sound is fully managed.
The rooms temp is 89f  and will drift to 93 or 95f during the day
The gear is running at 57f to 59f
Setup is temporary until I finish cleaning my garage.

Phil, the included data cables are long enough to stick 2 or 3 of these to 1 controller? Can we get a picture of how the 2 of them look together?

Interesting.
Just one point.
During the operation miner sometimes accumulates static electricity (maybe because of all that blowing).
For example, when you have a sweater on and touch it with one hand, sometimes it gives you a bit of a jolt.
The point is, I wonder if it could spark with the metallic outer tube, causing electrostatic discharge (ESD).
ESD is known not to be good for electronics.
maybe grounding the tube would not be a bad idea.

Good point. I will do that. But in the tube the S7 is sitting on some rubbers. So i think it's oke. But grounding it will be beter.

Ok, but you can use EVGA 1300 with an addition of two PCI-E extenders on single branch cables. Cost for used evga is ~$125-130 on ebay, maybe slightly less here if you can find it.

this is strange...did you check your bitmaintech account...what does it say? does it say: shipped or unshipped?
also, check your email (including spam)

My Bitmain account has shown "Shipped" in the status since my power supplies shipped on the 2nd.  I have sent several emails, all have been returned with boilerplate responses.  "Miners will ship in order" and:

"Hi,
S7 has been sold out now. but it will be available soon.
Suggest you consider prepare bitcoins during this time and place order once it's available again.

Best Regards

BITMAIN"

AND:

"Hi,
We're shipping out miners following order of full payment.
Once miners are ready, we'll ship them out.
Please wait for update patiently.

Best Regards

BITMAIN"

I think they are seeing my order as "shipped" because of the power supplies and have not fulfilled it, and even after four emails with replies like the above I can't get a personalized response.

Sad

Minin', my own business.
