good going it looks like you are going for batch #2(slow) instead of #3. May I ask why as i also consider ordering another one? Are you planning to see if you can bump it up in speed somehow? Otherwise, i think that people might not favor it in the aftermarket. I don't mind having one that will only do 4600gh as the one I have does 4820. Well I ordered 2 and sent one out. So I need a second. Must have two so you can have a spare controller. When I run 2 I need a slight under clock due to heat. I also hope to run this gear until May before I sell. By then these will be a really bad or really good move.

Had another urge to buy a miner. A Batch 3 S7. Decided to do this again, instead. PACMiC v4 looks to be a loser. Good luck everyone.

I'm running my S7 @ stock speed @ 2500rpm fans @ 30C ambient without issue. Its not inconceivable that one might be able to do the same after replacing fans given a lower ambient. Also worth remembering that both the ASICMiner Tube and Prisma cooled ~1KW through a longer heatsink using a single fan. And in the case of the ASICMiner Tube it was possible to replace the fan with 2x Corsair SP120s which are quite a way under the NF-F12s.
interesting...what is % setting and its boards temp? thanks 30% fans, 66C highest board. doubly interesting, so you don't think that going this high is troublesome? I thought in S5 you wanted to stay lower than this (it least initially, AFAIR). If i can go to 2500 and even 3000rpm, I can definitely host another S7 [Your quote is derped]. No I don't have any indication that going that high is troublesome. They wouldn't have chosen an 80C shutdown if 70, 80 or even 90C was the "turns to sludge" point.

I have three S7's of which one stopped working after two days due to a defektive controller. So I currently have three hash-boards and two fans for spare. So whenever you encounter the misere of having a spare controller please let me know.

Or are they requiring you to ship the unit back and wait forever to get it back = it'd cost much more than just a controller? Sound to me like Bitmain should be able to sell you a Controller regardless.

With three extended hash cables you could run six hash boards from one controller. S5+ runs nine hash boards off one controller.

It's the chineese-holiday effect -- no reply at all I understand that but you should get a reply regardless for a replacement, i don't think you need to buy one from someone else. And as the previous user posted. A single controller should be able to run 6 and 9 blades. So you could be running all 3 S7's from the same controller. I'm not sure if you can do it that way with an S7 but with my S5 i put both of them on the side so that the PCB cable can reach the other S5's controller.

They seem like pretty handy things to have. I've seen longer cable in my Antminer S4, so maybe someone who salvaged S4's and maybe even S2's will have some. But anyways, here is J4bberwock's thread; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=738527.100

I ordered two on Sept 4th and have nothing yet....
I ordered two on Sept. 2nd, along with (3) of their power supplies. Got the power supplies right away, no word on the S7s. Sent two e-mails to Jacob Smith that have gone unanswered as well.

maybe i should just follow Xian1... and get BTC instead. Wifie is arguing that she needs my 'mining' room to do her studies and after hours work. I generally follow the "happy wife, happy life" rule, but maybe I could wiggle out of it somehow...no ideas apart from a rose colored iPhone so far, which is kind of lame.
