Bitcoin's price has to go up hundreds of dollars for you to realize significant profit. some altcoins only have to go up 1 dollar or 2 for you to double or tripple your money. its always better to find something that the markets havent seen so you can get an edge from being an early adopter.

It has gone a thousand dollars already and yet there are still people who are in doubt, they need to study and understand bitcoin because currently this is the best investment. I pulled our my money in stock market to buy bitcoins and some altcoins and I am loving the action here, I'm not bored because I can make an active income here.

If the coin is "unknown" to people, then how is its price going to go up? Hype is the only thing that makes the price of an altcoin go up. In terms of its use and potential, not much unless we're talking about a coin with lightning network here. Some coins out there don't even have an actual use. Most traders don't even read everything about the coin that they are going to buy. If they see a good buying opportunity or a good dip, then they buy some.

Altcoins are kind of good for investments, but it's still a gamble. In bitcoins, you have the assurance that newcomers buy this and if a major country ever adopt the use of cryptocurrency, they are going to buy bitcoins and not your "unknown altcoin with lots of potential".

Potential is just potential and altcoins need a hype to become a good investment to early investors.

Early adoption is important in gaining a profit margin in the altcoin markets. There are many ICOs on the forum that can help new users get used to them. However be wary about what coin you are trying to buy. There have been many scams and shitcoins in the past as well. Investors get scammed by the owners of some coin which was actually a MLM/HYIP scheme. However it is not possible to recognize a scam for every other ICO and hence be on guard.

one of the best investment as of now is investing  your money in altcoin . Choosing right altcoin for your money gives you a lot of profit for sure. Many people now investing their bitcoin in altcoin because they see the potential to increase of altcoins. But you need to choose right altcoin . You should not forget about the risks involved

Even if some obscure altcoin rises in price a few times, this might not be enough to make you happy because you would be too afraid to invest decent amounts of capital in it. Really, if you know nothing about some coin, why on Earth would you want to invest a few thousand dollars in it (or if only a few hundred)? But if you invest what you can leave to rest, then your profits will still be miserable in absolute terms. On the other hand, if you invest a million dollars in Bitcoin, you can be more or less certain that it won't hit the floor (though with the escalating confrontation in the Bitcoin camp, this is no longer true). Thus a small increase of only a few percentages will give you many thousands of dollars as pure profit

I think a balanced portfolio would include major coins like BTC, ETH and XCR as well as have some riskier altcoins which have a lot of potential of getting pumped. Its never a good thing to put all your eggs in 1 basket. You might get lucky a few times but it only takes 1 mistake to lose all your gains.

But you must not forget that altcoin trading is more risky. There is bitcoin trading which is also risky but then again bitcoin wont scam your money which has occurred in many altcoin trades. Altcoins are definitely riskier than BTC. it will take a lot more time for an altcoin to actually gain any fundamental value not to mention the possibility that the developer will all of a sudden dump the altcoin, which will leave you with a bunch of worthless coins. That being said, altcoins also have more potential to grow than already established bitcoins.
