Gambling. Is It Wrong?

I would not say It is wrong as Gambling has made some very lucky people so very rich!!! But I believe that done irresponsibly it is a bad thing, such as drinking, drugs, etc. to much of anything is bad, and if you do not do it responsibly you probably should not do it, oh and do not invest more than you are willing to lose!!!

It isn't wrong if you're winning. I think even if you're lossing as long as you are playing responsible. Like you still prioritize other things over gambling and you still keep some for savings. One habit becomes bad if you're doing it too much that cause some problem in you and to other people around you.

In my experience in this field, it became beneficial once and as long as play for a long time it became worst. Almost of my earning were depleted that time so I stop playing. Though it is negative in my point of view still it can be turn into positive one by like for entertainment and perhaps could be profitable if you were lucky enough.

Gambling is so far beneficial for me. I gamble only on a moderate level and not gambling regularly. I had some big losses in the past and managed to be on profit at the end. I don't know whether it is my luck or not but, it has been beneficial for me.

It's alright if you do it regularly as long as you have the discipline so you can control your time and the amount you risk.

How is gambling wrong? I think people who think it is immoral are just of that opinion for religious reasons. It's just like playing a game but with money on the line which can make it exciting, but it's not morally wrong. It's like saying alcohol is wrong. It's not illegal in most places and most people can enjoy it responsibly without it becoming an issue, but on the other hand there are those that can't and it does become an issue for them, but others can enjoy it in moderation and without it becoming an issue or a problem. Same goes for gambling. I gamble once every while, but I can go weeks or even months without doing so, but it's nice to have a 'flutter' as they say every now and again and I think it's just another form of entertainment and something I enjoy. For sure I don't like losing but that's part of the game and something you accept and you should certainly never chase your loses as that's how gambling can become a problem very quick.

For me gambling is wrong because you are attempting to get the money of others.You want their money to get it and let it be into plenty. Until you become greedy to have a plenty of money.

How can you say that gamblers are attempting to get the money of others? How do you define the word "others" there, is it the people? other gamblers? Either of that two is not correct.

Gambling sites or even casinos has their own capitals on the start. That means, they have their own money that they can use to give the people the prices or their winnings. The money there doesn't circulate as to gambler to gambler, that stops at the owner most of the time. Also, the owner pays tax to the government so some of that money is being paid to the government. Gambling is not wrong but if you are getting greedy because of it, that is wrong.

Yeah as long as gambling doesn't have a bad effect it's not a problem. after all, some players are really looking for fun to be gambled
not for profit, it's fine. the point is not to get out of control and make you obsessed with becoming rich in gambling

But isn't burning your money in exchange of some fun is already a sacrificial act? It's bad that he's in that situation, that he feels like he needs to gamble in order to stay sane. Honestly, it's not a necessity to him at all but rather a habit that he got used to. Regardless, it's his money and people have their own ways of burning their money. Others burn their money buying expensive phones, clothes, and designer bags. Others burn their money through gambling. It's not that it's not wrong. It's just not our business. At least we are aware that it's wrong hence we're not going to do the bad things other people do.

I have this new way of looking at addiction. As long as the addicted person isn't interrupting or harming another individual, it's okay. The moment that they steal from someone or take advantage of someone, that's when it becomes wrong. What's legal and what's illegal doesn't determine what's right and wrong. People choose to do those things and they are indeed free to do that. We don't have to mind their business at all. And I think with this new attitude, you get to not care about the world. It saves you from the stress. It's the same reason why I choose to not watch the news as well. Other people's wrongdoings shouldn't be a concern of us unless we are involved.

Till the time it is not effecting a person in anyway whether it is financially or mentally it is good to gamble or enjoy and as a result this will act as a entertainment to a person unless gambling they consider it as a source of income and this is where the problems starts to occur.

we have the same opinion on this. besides that, I don't judge gambling is wrong because I know that many people want to use the free time to play gambling and they can stop in anytime they want although there are many people who cannot do this. but as long as we can know when the time to stop then we can prevent to get more losses and it means, we can save money and maybe we can come back to use our free time in the next day.

Well it is not wrong, it is just depends on how you do it. As long as it does not affect your life it is not wrong.
If you gamble to gain money it is wrong because if you not capable to fund your gambling habit you better to stop it step by step.
It is acceptable to gamble if you have source  of income that will fund your habit example is work, or pension  to those retired people gambling.
 Do it just for fun and limit your self in playing so that you will never regret it in the future.

Well this is also my argument as to whether something is a crime or not. Something is only a crime if it hurts or endangers somebody else. Drug use shouldn't be a crime because that hurts nobody else but the person who is taking the drugs and that is their choice (unless you start stealing and harming others to feed your habit then it becomes a criminal matter). Same goes for gambling. There's nothing morally wrong with gambling or using drugs, but if you start harming others through your addictions then that's when it crosses the line. People can get addicted to gambling or drugs but people are responsible for their own actions and self-control, and everybody should not be penalized because there are those that can't control their addictions. If you want to gamble or take drugs then you should be free to do so, just know your limits and don't hurt or deprive anyone else of money in the process.
