There are many opposing viewpoints about tomorrow’s announced stress test. Some are calling it an attack on the network, however we see it as no different than someone purchasing all of the tickets on a train to have the whole train to themselves. We have spoken to multiple lawyers and the general consensus is that such a test does not violate any laws in the EU or elsewhere.

Tomorrow’s test will not occur as planned. CoinWallet.eu will not be sending a single transaction. Instead, we will be giving away over 200 Bitcoins to the community. Previous tests have involved splitting bitcoins into hundreds of thousands of tiny outputs. Now, as a gift to the community, all of the private keys that contain those outputs will be posted publicly, making the coins free for the taking.

Here are 5 private keys, each containing 0.53918 BTC. Thousands more will be posted tomorrow.

Our stress testing days are officially over. We thank the community for its patience. These tests have spurred much needed discussion on the block size debate.

so the stress test has officially started. huh
shame on you for trying to use other people's greed for your evil purposes by spreading the stress addresses to fill the blockchain with your spam attack.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

With the size of each output being so small, it is not possible to send a high fee transaction with these private keys. Therefore normal transactions will not be hindered.

It is not only that this spamming of the blockchain may have legal implications. Their "service" as they present it on their homepage also violates AML regulations both in Great Britain as in Canada, thus have been reported with some forensic evidence to the authorities.

So The People will rush to cash in those private keys thus creating their own tidal wave of transactions. Nicely played.

I'm having trouble even loading the unspent outputs for the first address. Blockchain.info just timed out trying to load them. Tongue I wonder what it would cost to move these outputs.... Smiley

Over 45,000 default unspendable outputs....

Unconfirmed transaction in every address. I guess that people will try to reverse transactions all over.

A distributed stress test, genious.

Why don't you spread the release of the keys out over a few weeks instead?

Why dont you tell your buddies at coinwallet to use those coinz for funding the launch of your stupid XT altcoin?
Maybe rent coupla servers to boost your fading xt nodes too?

You get angrier and more tightly wound with each successive post. You will soon start developing your very own gravity.

Wasn't Gavin saying that a stress test would only prove your point? Spreading the coin distribution over the course of weeks most likely wouldn't even make an effective stress test.
