Wrong default settings for the new SOILsafe GUI: The IPC path should be ~/. soil/gsoil.ipc. Linux filenames are case-sensitive Thanks for your feedback.

Windows 8.1 x64 Please try, if this works better for you. DownloadThanks I will try it in an hour or so. Will also do more detailed testing - stopping some running processes and what not. Let me know whic detailed information will help the best. And yes - it is reproducible. Every time I start it. I am suspecting other software that is also running. Geth, ccminer etc...

Wow! too much ethereum forks now. Why would someone leave the real true project and go with its forks - if not for pump and dump only. lol

ETH is a great coin, theres a great vision, but.. too many cooks spoil the broth. i think they have great vision, but i think we have a relevancy with SOIL. the application rich blockchain is going to make the difference, and with SOIL id like to work with target marketing, bring on board those automated and centralized processes from a certain spectrum of the market (the ecological sector) and build a BRAND not just a coin. for something to be successful there has to be a vision, not just another altcoin to toss on the glutted market, you have to do something that matters, and with the realworld possibilities of projects like ethereum and SOIL, i think its going to change a lot of the ways we look at computing. im newish to the cryptoworld, relatively speaking, but ive been reading up on tons of coins as they launch, and what growing pains they experience, what challenges they face, and SOIL is the first coin ive ever gotten behind and gotten completely involved with. the lead developer has a metric (censored)-ton of talent and vision to where the innovations can take us with regards to the front end software, and i can see a lot of potential to where we can go with things BEYOND that. this is a long-term project. just as ETH is releasing its package in stages (frontier-->homestead-->metropolis-->serenity) that could take a few years to fully implement, we're looking at SOIL in a similar light. there WILL be evolution, there will be a challenge to the mainstream platform. this isnt about pump and dump, its not about releasing a coin and walking away from it, its about realizing the potentialities of the blockchain and DApps. its about bringing that to parts of industry completely unconnected to the cryptocurrency world, making those automated processes more efficient, more stable, more secure. and in teh end, for the end-user of those applications, cheaper. its about forging something long lasting. ive watched Expanse (with an 11,000,000 upfronted community reserve, which in their [ANN] post is termed as "small") but i dont SEE a clear cut vision. its PRETTY. it is community driven (like SOILs consensus controlled evolutionary development) and ive watched Shift, whose [ANN] doesnt really tell us what its FOR, what it REPRESENTS. and i think thats the difference with SOIL. theres a vision for the future, its community minded, and democratic much like EXP and SHF, but at the heart of the matter, its the applications on the blockchain that will make this something the perseveres. THATS why you leave the "real true project" and go with its forks, specifically, you go with THIS fork! we're working tirelessly and (personally very caffeine fueled) to find what works for the community, to build a storng and loyal userbase and build somthing better. and looking to the future, to next year, to two years down the road...

Community, thanks for your suggestions and your votes in the poll. We're wondering, what was your motivation to vote for YES in the poll. Especially we're interested in for your motivation to vote for NOPE. Do your fear, that we will dump the community reserve and run away? If so, would it change your mind, when we would lock the community reserve coins up for a predetermined time period via a Smart contract? i.e.: - 10K SOIL community reserve instantly from main-net start
- 20K SOIL community reserve unlocked after 7 days past the main-net has started by smart contract
- 30k SOIL community reserve unlocked after 14 days past the main-net has started by smart contract
- 40k SOIL community reserve unlocked after 28 days past the main-net has started by smart contract
- 50k SOIL community reserve unlocked after 42 days past the main-net has started by smart contract

My honest opinion the way you can gain trust is to tell; what is the true purpose/goal of this coin? It's still kind of a mystery and being not transparent really does not install trust. People just looking at the OP will mostly be turn off because of the lack of detail. I'm a altruistic person at my core want all crytpos to succeed and be legit , but a realist at the same time I would be cautious to non-transparent projects.

Really interesting! I'm keen to know more about "The Third Way". Thanks Thanks. Me too. Truly puzzled what is the progressive way forward ... especially with the current majority type of user attitude. A thought: IFF you decide ", No premine": The 1st clone is trying with a tiny premine, Team managed. The 2nd clone with a huge premine, "Community Managed". In terms of sheer numbers ... what are your striking arguments for going even below the 1st? Alternatively: What about targeting the middle grounds? To protect it, you could perhaps lock it into long term smart contracts with multi-sig accounts? Oh ... anyone wants to share the above text, please retweet here: https://twitter.com/altsheets/status/646288982066733056Thanks.

I received a PM from a community manager or something. I still echo the statements others have brought up, and was provided no information in said PM. 1) What purpose or target audience is this for? How does/will it differ from Ethereum? Initial develoment seemed limited to little more than: find ./ -type f -exec sed -i -e 's/ethereum/soil/g' {} \; 2) Lower block times increase the likelihood of double-spends and orphaned blocks. 3) Premines and IPO's are overdone and unecessary. No serious developer wants to be paid in an untested currency. Genuinely curious as to the response on these points.
