Correct, poker is a game that is very difficult to play that is why most people lose money there too, poker is a very advanced since you need to calculate odds in a very rapid manner in order to take the right decision, so a beginner is going to get crushed if he is playing against some advanced players.

But it is still gambling though, we can't change the fact that it is risky just because we are winning on it, losing could still happen most of the time since that is how gambling works, the gambling site is making more bankrolls than the money that they are losing. Poker is a game which you do really need skill, but I think it is boring since it is going to take some time to know if you win or not, unlike DICE, which you could easily know if you win or not in just pressing the roll button.

That may be true for the game of poker but not for every type of gambling. Practice makes perfect for all skill based games but those which totally depend on a person's luck are not affected by any amount of practice. A person does not need practice to roll dice or slots. The EV- games are dependent on luck and they should not be played too much because eventually the house edge will catch up.

Also if you stay for longer time in casinos chances are there that you will end up in a loss due to which it is said that if you get profit during start of the game encash that profit and leave the game.
