It's possible also that he wants to hide that 500 BTC and this is why he won't show a blockchain transaction. Some of the hackers would be interested in that 500 BTC, it's a kind of amount that starts them thinking about the possibilites to get that somehow. But your version about the edited picture is more likely to be true...

I can speak from experience, this is what happens.

My experience isn't as dramatic, but I  had done some sports betting yesterday, with about $10, and I ended up losing on a safe bet because the league is in its off season right now, and thus they were screwing around and lost against a weak team. So I am currently down $8, when subtracting my winnings from other bets.

The funny thing with gambling is even after following many professionalism things, many gamblers could not find themselves in profit side. So, there is no certain formula, if we follow to end up in profits from gambling. Even some people achieve some profits, there is no guarantee for success for another person following same guidelines.

I don't think many people understand what "the house edge" means. Those who do understand it, never gamble. They understand that to play is simply foolish. The rest think there is some force called Luck or some trick to overcome the odds.
