I use litecoin every now and then and have used some other stuff as well, including DOGE and NLG.

NXT is used ofcourse for the assets and currencies in their system.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

There's no real opponent in cryptocurrencies to bitcoin. But i don't mind trading them on and off until they die out, since you can make a nice buck out of it,
then just simply convert everything back to bitcoin, and hodl.

Nope, indeed. We can be looking at some coin that would survive because of certain services. Maybe like truly anonymous transactions or such. But potentially only when sidechain start kicking in.

If sidechain start appearing and solve the "issues of Bitcoin" then this allow Bitcoin to evolve and effectively become closer to the perfect digital era currency.

Litecoin. Is fast to transfer, and there are exchanges in which you can use it better (i.e they have a minimum for Bitcoin trading, but the minimum is much lower for trading litecoin).

I also like dogecoin for about the same reasons. In fact I would prefer one of those two (a lower value coin) to be able to send even lesser value transfers. It is less risky to play with smaller fractions in exchanges.

I haven't used another cryptocurrency yet. That may sound surprising considering I've been using BTC for more than 30 months, but when I look at the market caps of all cryptos ( http://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ ) BTC is just so much bigger than all the others, that I see no reason to look elsewhere. Still, I would appreciate a fully anonymous crypto.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Dogecoin best suits for transactions where all other major crypt-currencies are being used as investment shares. I use dogecoin for sending funds. Because it has very less fees compared to bitcoin. So I'm saving some coins by using dogecoin for sending money to other.

I am using dogecoins because of low transaction fees and very low cost of one coin. So when i have to gamble then also i use dogecoin as it feels nice when you bet so high without the chances of loosing much money.

Yeah i love it to, dogecoin have a low transaction fees moreover if you want to send your bitcoin from one exchanger to other exchanger, just convert your bitcoin to dogecoin and send them to the other exchanger you want, it only takes 1-2 dogecoin it that means your transaction fees less than 180 satoshi

I'm collecting clamcoins but I don't have a lot of it yet. I just get clams from faucets and I'm planning to buy some in the future. I like the exchange rate of clamcoins as of this moment and I think it will stay at it's current level.

I'm mostly use monero. I'm rather not "an open book", so I dont like my transactions being public in bitcoin or litecoin blockchains.

Take this current massive data hack: http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/oct/01/experian-hack-t-mobile-credit-checks-personal-information

And just imagine what would happen if along with "names, addresses, and social security, driver’s license and passport number"  that company had bitcoin address of its clients. Then what? All past transactions and their balances would be public for everyone to see, because, bitcion blockchain is public. I dont like such a possibility.

Using Bitshares/BitUSD - one of the rare good ways to keep virtual crypto USD at your machine. Fuck capital controls.

Mostly why i use DOGE is because of their very little fee (most of the time 1 DOGE)
1 DOGE is around 0.0001 USD, basically 100 doge is only 1 cents.
The transaction confirmation takes much faster than a bitcoin transcation.

I use the below three coins except bitcoin
1.Menoro (XMR)
2.DASH
3 .Etherium(Eth)

And my personal favourite is DASH because i find the potential in this coin..I believe the price of this coin will soon going to reach 0.01 bitcoin..It's price is low now but this coin is showing the potential..if it just becomes little more popular,it's price will sky rocket for sure Grin

I use Menoro too because i heard it's easy to mine with CPU..I have not mined it yet but will soon start mining it..Currently i own few XMR that i bought with Bitcoins Smiley

I have used Doge and Litecoin, but the majority of my transactions are in Bitcoin. Except for trading on an exchange, there is very little use for most altcoins.

I like to use Doge a lot for the same reasons others mentioned already, namely:

- Very low transaction fees (awesome)
- Very fast transfer/confirmation times (even more awesome)
- Still as fun to use as in its early days
- Big community of users and holders
- Actual retailers that accept the coin directly as payment
- and Doge is great as a trading pair with other low value alt coins because of it's low value per coin which allows for accuracy on exchanges.

I also like to use TEK, CAP and SPRTS for their POS (Proof of Stake) ability. No need for hardware miners or wasting of resources, just hold an amount in your wallet and reap interest over time.

And last but not least I just started to use XCR (Crypti) which offers a decentralized applications platform with and all-round solution for Node.js and JavaScript developers to deploy their own decentralized applications (DAPPS). XCR is certainly not the first one to offer a DAPPS platform of course (think ETH) but IMHO it is the most promising.
