Is there anyway to automatically check these things?
Seems awfully inefficient this way.

how did that happen? I thought only staff and donators could change their names.

There has been a few instances where "normal" people names have been changed.
It's not really mentioned because I suppose staff doesn't want to be overloaded with requests.

Only admins can change usernames for others. This happened in the past, very rarely and only for a good enough reason.

Out of curiosity what quality's for a really good reason?   I can think of maybe becoming a business and wanting to switch to business name.

But on individual I cant think of good reason beside just want it.  Maybe I just am not creative and missing something though.

Since someone brought this up and posted this here, this maybe used as a precedent to those who want's to change usernames and use blazed aka Blazedout419 as a sample.

In what way is this thread pointless again? I have stated it in OP that it is just for reference

IMO it is useful infomation. Now many users are aware that Blazedout419 and Blazed are from the same person.

Especially seeing as he is a common inclusion in trust lists.

419 is a scam reference.
Maybe after all the recent drama, he thought the joke had become a bit stale.

I also noticed that today. Other than being very active in the Goods section I'm not sure why he was allowed to have his name changed. I've been selling my own physical bitcoins for almost two years now (predominantly through this forum). Does that warrant a name change to my business name, should I want to do so?

419 is a scam reference.

For anyone else who was confused on what 419 was, here's the background on it.

Does that warrant a name change to my business name, should I want to do so?

Name changes don't rely too much on your reputation/contributions. I believe it relies more on the reason that you want to change the username.

I think there would be a lot more name changes if growing tired of one's username was sufficient reason to warrant a name change.

Oh wow a thread sort of about me!

I just figured why not shorten my name to Blazed...nothing really interesting about it. The 419 had nothing to do with any scams. The admins do not really change names often for people, but if you play well with others around here they will hook you up. I left my avatar the same plus look at my trust score it sort of gives away who Blazed is  Tongue

Edit: Everyone always refers to me as "Blazed" anyways.
