C`mon guys, every day there are like 10 new threads in the newbie sector about "How to earn bitcoin".

It's annoying, it generates many spam, and it doesnt help newbies either since people are tired of writing the "good bitcoin earning solutions" down 10 times /day in 10 different threads.

=================================

Suggestion:

A moderator should make a thread which should be a guide thread, detailing all quick methods to earn bitcoin, and the risks associated with it. Then pin the thread in that board (the beginner sector).

Popular bitcoin earning methods:
1) Mining
2) Sig campaign /Avatar campaign
3) Faucets
4) Social media/ forum giveaways
5) Freelancing (create & publish bitcoin related website), Programming,  Bounty resolve,etc..

A detailed thread about this, in a very simple and understandable language (because newbies are lazy + not familiar with many bitcoin things), should be enough.

What do you think?

Yes that too, updated the first post.

It can be very well done by somebody who can speak english very well and has good skills with the forum.

First Shorena comes to my mind, he could do this thread pretty well, and then a moderator can just simply pin it.

Of course newbies are creating these kind of threads as this is the first thing they are interested in with all the running campaigns. Can't really blame them, who doesn't want free coins??

I do agree with you regarding a sticky thread that expains everything around earning coins, that will be more than helpful and probably decrease the amount of these how to earn threads.

I dont blame them, nor do i think that they should be deleted, everybody has a right to opinion.

What I`m saying is that these threads make the forum look less professioal, and it creates disorientation between people and much confusion. If a newbie sees 100 threads about earning bitcoin, all filled up with reiterating spam, then its not very encouraging for him to join bitcoin and will most likely quit.

So we need to reduce the number of these threads to have a better organization.

A little bit of guidance should be good. I may add that the bitcoin.org site should also give some advices how to earn bitcoin, because that is the main site.

I see the point in your suggestion, but this won't necessarily stop the newbies from creating those "how do I earn bitcoin?" threads over and over again.

A little bit of guidance should be good. I may add that the bitcoin.org site should also give some advices how to earn bitcoin, because that is the main site.

Does PayPal give advice on how to earn PayPal funds? No. Bitcoin is just a currency and there's no real reason that bitcoin.org should baby you into your first bitcoin.

It wont stop it, but it will reduce the number of spam, and that is both fair and good for the forum and the readers.

Yes but bitcoin is a very new type of money, and people need some advices to start. You dont go into paypal's forum to ask for how to earn money, but you will go into bitcoin forum to ask for it. There is a difference.

It should be atleast temporary for a few years until people get used to it. Without bitcoin income, people wont be interested in it, thats a fact.

What do you think?

I like the idea, but I dont think it should get stickied. Stickies are mainly about the boards rules with a few exceptions.

Thanks for the compliment, but I dont think I will start such a thread. What I can offer however is that I would contribute to such a thread, e.g. write a part about signature campaigns.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

People don't read stickies and they don't bother to search.

Such threads will always be with us. As they're all genuine enquiries I wouldn't class them as spam. They are repetitive in the extreme but if people want to ask it and others want to answer they may as well continue.

But I`m not asking to delete those threads because that would be censorship and that would be very bad.

What i`m saying is that we can reduce them, just by putting out an example thread, and if they read it, they read it, if they dont then they dont.

I`m sure most of them will read the sticky, and it will reduce significantly the spam.

I think there should be a sticky for earning bitcoins so that not every newbee post the same question again Tongue

Do you think it's a good idea to send and automatic PM (private message) to newbies and message includes those that are stickied?
I registered on another forum (not a bitcoin site) and after I verify the account and logged in I immediately saw a Private message that includes a welcome note and some helpful links for me to read and to be familiar with the site.

I don't think so newbees generally don't even know about pms so they won't read it

I do agree with your suggestion whole heartedly , this kind of questions are beginning to be more like spam everyday, it's a never ending question for newbies. Sometimes I wonder if they were posted there with hidden agenda, some old accounts will make new accounts and post those repeated questions so that they can earn on posting under for their  signature campaign..

I know what you mean. I've seen those in other forums as well; however, in those forums, the "New Message" is slightly more visible than here. Even though we are all used to checking the [X] (assume X is a number) next to the "My Messages", newbies will probably not.

However, it would would work if we implemented a feature in which it would force the newbies to read the PM on registration.

I can attest to this as well, it seems as though it's the same few methods with varying websites to apply this on. We should definitely just keep the "How to earn" in the newbie section to one Thread/sticky that heavily outlines all of the commonalities that are currently residing in that section. It would de-clutter that section to an epic proportion.
