I have downloaded the new windows wallet and I am having problems getting it to load using my existing wallet database. The new wallet generates a windows exception error. If I rename the existing database, allowing  the new wallet to recreate the database with a new wallet address, it loads fine and begins sync'ing.

Sending my coins from my old wallet to this new wallet is a solution but then I would have to perform coin control to re-block the coins and I'll have to wait for them to mature before staking.

Any thoughts

What I did was is backup the wallet.dat.  I renamed the old Transfer folder under C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming to TranferV1.1.  I then ran the new wallet setup.  The reason I did it this was is because the txleveldb has to be rebuilt because of the updates.  When you run the new setup it will recreate the Transfer folder in that directory.  The new wallet requires a full sync, and this was the easiest way to do it.

Thanks for that, I renamed the transfer folder in appdata and created a new empty transfer folder. Copied the old wallet.dat into this folder and ran up the new wallet, it's syc'ing now and seems to be all there.

Thought I could get away without re-sync'ing but not a problem.

As an observation, the dashboard has a darksend balance and I am using clearnet not the darknet, is that ok?

There are three buttons (well assume they are buttons, I can't access them while it's sync'ing), do you have any information on the darkside of the wallet?

I'm not quite sure how to use darksend currently. The UI for it was disabled before these builds but from what i can tell everything is there. I wanted to enabled it for users that might know a bit more about it. There are still a few things that need to be integrated to make it easier to use. One of the things i need to do is add an identifier to anon coins in your coin control. Currently there is no way to tell which coins inputs have been mixed, and therefore no way to send them properly.

I am starting to work my way into the Dash core and have found where the old core developers pretty much gave up. I will be working from there to improve our code, which should help with how the masternodes are handled and to features relating to darksend.

Just got off the phone with the darksilk dev after a 12 hour skype call. To say the least we got a LOT done today. another 1000+ lines of code, and working our way further into the dash commit.

Thank you guys for the kind words ! WE FINALLY MADE IT THROUGH THE PROBLEMS ! There is a LOT of updates coming up, and im trying everything i can to plan the hard forks correctly Wink some commits I have been skipping to implement at a later date, so I dont have to get everyone to update to a third client before the fork that is being initiated currently. I do however have a new client that I am going to release as a BETA client. Lets name this client 1.2.1 Which is going to include a BUNCH of changes for how the masternodes are handled and the cross sending feature.

I have NOT been able to test staking on this client. SO If you download this client when it is released it may NOT stake properly ! I would like to find some users for testing, so that the whole network doesnt switch to a wallet that could possibly stop the network.

If you would like to test this client please contact me on IRC, twitter or on the forum here.

perfect once I get the client built, then ill make sure to get it to you  Smiley ive done some testing on linux and it seems to respond much better, quicker syncing times, startup times, an addition of a masternode database. there were so many changes that arent actually listed in the change log, because they were mixed among the other commits.

in total there was 4,229 lines added and 1,229 lines deleted. that was just my weekend commit Wink

wallet disable on bittrex

Likely do to the upgrade.  The wallet has been back online for several hours now.

Dev posted this may come up in the post below.

Just got confirmation from bittrex that they will be updating their wallet, you may see the market as disabled until it is finished syncing and we confirm that we are both on the same page.

As more nodes come online this will happen less often, masternodes are relayed from one node to the other, so not everyone thats staking sees the same mastersnodes, 1.2.1 adds a masternode database and better checking of masternodes from peers. But on the current version the peers dont always have all of the masternodes in their list.

Currently i have 8 masternodes in my list, but im almost positive there are a few more online than that. I just recently put one online last night and i havent received any rewards yet either. the current process just picks a masternode randomly from the list thats available to you. if the person staking hasnt gotten word of that masternode yet through the other peers, then it wont get rewarded. If you have a smaller number of connections, try adding some of the nodes from chainz to increase your chances.
