With infinite possibilities, anything can happen at least once. Life on Earth could be an anomaly.

Given the size of our universe and the amount of planets we've found, the probability for ANY life to exist on just one of those planets approaches 1. Even if we narrow the scope to intelligent life, I still feel the odds are extremely high.

I don't believe that aliens have visited our planet. Ignoring the likelyhood that FTL may be impossible, I feel that if aliens came to Earth, it would be a HUGE deal. I don't believe the governments of the planet are all-knowing and all-powerful like some conspiracy theorists believe. They're made up of people, and definitive proof would have gotten out.

It does make it impossible on an individual level. And on a civilizational level it's honestly very difficult.

I mean, life on other planets? Absolutely. No way that out of the BILLIONS of other planets, we are the one that has life.

What have you seen? I'm looking for detail on experiences also. I'm pretty sure I saw a UFO last night and I'm kinda freaking out about it.

Anyone who has an opinion on this really needs to research the many many many accounts of UFO sightings, some that are even backed up with radar and many multiple witnesses. Whether it's ETs or not, it's a real phenomenon that is ridiculous to discount.

Hasn't it been proven already that the likelihood of other intelligent life existing is extremely high, due to the sheer size of the universe?

Wouldn't this same theory apply to the myriad of people who say they have seen ghosts? Either every tale of a ghost is wrong or they exist. Same as ETs. Maybe ghosts are otherworldly creatures.

No one will ever give us a demonstrative single instance of the contacts of extraterrestrial civilization with the people of the earth. Only when the Earthlings themselves see something, Then there will be a grand sensation. But until this time it's all just talking and unrealistic pictures on the web.

I mean, yea, I think there's something to some "ghost" encounters. To me it's not about classifying everything into a neat little category, it's about being interested in the experiences people report and the research that people do about those experiences. I think the hurdle here, and why people think this stuff is crazy talk, is that we are very used to the idea of materialism. Of course there's also scammers, schizophrenics, well meaning but misinformed people, all that, which makes the topic tricky and frustrating to get into, but once you do dive in, it's hard not to be open to the idea that materialism is too limiting.

Yes, because I feel that it is highly unlikely that we are the only intelligent life in a universe with billions of stars, planets, and solar systems. With that many places for life to arise, statistical improbabilities become pretty high in terms of likelihood.
