I think that I will stop using bitcoin maybe if in my real life i have much enough of money .. but for now i will stay using bitcoin Once you start using bitcoins you can never stop yourself from using bitcoins, I believe holding and earning bitcoins is something like addiction where you want more and more bitcoins in your digital wallet and I bet when people starts using bitcoins they will never quit.

What's stopping people from using bitcoin are all the scam artists who are attracted to the technology. People are afraid to associate themselves with a product that has a bad reputation and they are afraid of having their money stolen by thieves that they can't catch...That's what's stopping people from using bitcoin....scams!

trust , bitcoin cant be reverse .
i thought that the fact that there is no chargeback is a plus, since many hate paypal for that so that ca not be really a valid reason, trust only appear for the price, for the instability, which i may find a it like a valid concern, if people keep thinking about the value as the last one achieved, instead of thinking that the average increase matter more

Kinda troublesome or a turn off for some to buy bitcoin, as you need to get your id verified. Not many place or even online accept bitcoin payment. There are better payment methods or we are comfortable to use it. (credit cards. Paypal/Debit cards etc)
The price of bitcoin can be a heart attack for some, it goes from 1k + to 200+ back then, and recently bounced to 400+ usd average a btc.
Lastly, in my country if they report anything about bitcoin in news... it's something bad -_-'' (Like Mt gox, or people use bitcoin for drugs, weapons etc due to anonymity)
The power of media can be very powerful, with bad news about BTC, they will think twice to use it or even use REAL money to buy it.

A scam will be a scam. It won't sustain in long run, cause they can't make $ for you at all, they don't have any business model or investment plans to make money grows. All they did is use other people's $ to pay other users, so those who earned $ is just from other victims... in short a vicious cycle. People KNEW, but they just dump their $ in hoping for a miracle.
Maybe I have to give another example for people who can't understand. It's like- Going down to dirty sewers looking for fresh air.

Yeah. The reputation of Bitcoin does take a hit from how it's known to be used in dark web purchases and ponzis. The Mt. Gox incident also ruptured the reputation ob bitcoins. I guess people think that it's unsound to have the same currency as criminals, or they don't understand how it works and don't have enough faith to check it out.

Well said, plus don't forget that for common people handling decimals, authorization keys, wallets, addresses as long as line of code and many other "easy to use" features are completely out of their league. We may be comfortable with them because we are a bunch of nerds but Bitcoin has a long way before it's being considered as a hassle free method compared to Paypal, CCs, etc.

They can't use it anywhere, it's a hassle to even get a hold of, mostly if you are not in the States. What's the point? Bitcoin is an amazing innovative technology, no doubt about it, but it may take decades to evolve, just like the Internet was in the 90s.

But, us early adopters can be rewarded for getting into Bitcoin this early, if it really does take off in the future like the Internet. For sure, one thing that came out of bitcoin is no doubt going to be used in the future: the blockchain concept. Hopefully the fun with Bitcoin will last for a long time.

In my country, most of the people don't know how to use an internet banking safely...imagine using bitcoin, that is way more complex to keep a safe wallet.

No doubt the technology is here to stay, and for those of us who appreciate, enjoy, and utilize its functionality, versatility, and innovation there are fun and interesting times ahead of us!

For the majority who are new this whole tech thing. Bitcoin usage is beyond them. Using it is tricky enough, understanding it is another level. Without understanding, there is little trust.

Complexity of using bitcoin is a problem. Its easier to use cash and credit cards for everyday shopping, and I doubt it will change. Cash can always be used without internet, bitcoin not. Credit cards and paypal confirmations are instant, whereas for bitcoin it is about 10 min, but usually more. Also people get their salaries with fiat or directly to their bank. No need to get to excahnges, pay exchange fees, etc. Finally if people use credit card or payal, you can charge back on mistakes. If chargebacks were possible in bitcoin, for example, situations like this could be avoided: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3yklrd/accidentally_sent_btc_to_bitmixer_donation/

Because bitcoin is harder to use than flat money. It doesn't have any physical form, just all virtual. There's a lot of people out there that even dont understand how to open a website.
in short, a lot of people didn't understand.

True, the lack of good guides/tutorials is bad, and people protecting their money/wallet is too much to ask. By default the encrypt your wallet with a password would be good.

I do think we need some proper information on how to use bitcoin safely. With advanced wallet stealers software people should be able to use bitcoin how it is meant to be.
