I agree this is confusing for people not familiar with Bitfinex. I almost made the mistake buying at .0003 and I thought it was .00003 because it was only showing 7 digits instead of 8.

It would just buy at the nearest sell order which would be market price.

I have a seed with IOTA that I bought last year, I tried updating as intructions and nothing has happened.

I downloaded the new wallet and now my original says it has a 0 balance and when I tried to import to make a new one nothing happened.

Anyone here fixed this yet?

Anyone can help with this or have info? A lot of us have been trying to figure out how to do this.

Instructions are extremely vague

After you claim you have to generate addresses ... and your balance will appear.

Could it be that coinmarketcap does the calculation wrong?!
I mean they are talking about IOTA, but the price on bitfinex is calculated on MIOTA - this is a difference of 6 (!!!) Zeros, behind the comma (vice versa)

I can't believe that 1 MIOTA is worth about ~600000 $ (today, maybe later - time will tell  Wink )

New signature to come =D

what happened?

Iota has no inflation. The current supply is finite. Byteball inflates every month.

This coin just popped out of nowhere on coinmarketcap.  Over $1 billion dollars right from the start???

Good luck to the dev team to support this marketcap.

Only 2,779,530,283 IOTA according to coinmarketcap but according to https://learn.iota.org/faq/what-is-the-total-supply it is 1000 times more at
2.779.530.283.277.761. Why the difference?

Nah it's all good Smiley  I see ICO's come out of nowhere, but noticed that this thread started in 2015.  Coinmarketcap doesn't have any price history so my assumption was wrong.

Basicaly 1 mi iota = 1 coin
             1 Gi iota  = 1000 coins
             1 ti iota    = 1000 000 coins
When compared to traditional coins, not in price though

Anything below Mi iota like Ki iota would be the same thing as satoshis, just fractions

But only because its the Mi thats being traded

If the price was for 1 IOTA only, the price would be much higher

It doesnt
