What is the max transactions per second can IOTA handle? Ripple can do 1,000 per second which is the record right now, can IOTA do better?

I came across this project when I received newsletter from Bittrex that it will be listed on their exchange, I can see this is not an ICO project, I will like to ask how the huge number of tokens in circulation was distributed, is it by Airdrop or mining?
they said when it will be listed? or when did they send the newsletter?

One IOTA for a valued transaction cost around 0.0000004 usd - this is not a low price in your mind? Seems the power of logic is not with you ...
so what? one satoshi is at 0.000026$ over that logic, bitcoin price is also pretty low, isn't it? just 0.000026$ for each satoshi, 0.000026$/0,0000004$ = 65 times. any coin would love to be 65 times lower than bitcoin,

Yes IOTA can do much better. Disclaimer: I don’t want people to necessarily refrain from using IOTA at this point, since the prospect of this technology actually delivering on its promises is still intriguing. The only way we will be able to discover whether it works safely or not is by having many users and devices use the network. However, these users need to know that the value they invest in IOTA at this point is entirely placed with the goodwill of the Foundation.

Again I ask, exactly how many transactions can IOTA handle at max capacity?

We were unable to generate enough transactions to reach the max capacity.

I believe the official statement is that payment capacity is essentially limited by hardware and network constraints. So bye bye Ripple with its 'record'

no one knows this actually, because the networkspeed depends on the user. the more user use the tanglenetwork the faster the transactions! So, your question is too early...

So you guys need an artificial sandbox to mimic a big city like Los Angeles in order to discover IOTA max transactions per second potential?

yeah, you must generate the seed, not use any password, tehre is an option on top to generate a seed, the colission of two similar seeds is near impossible, like in bitcoin

I know there's a lot of people that want to buy IOTA but just don't trust Bitfinex because of the exchange hack last year..

Does IOTA have any relationship with Solarcoin? I saw IOTA logo on Solarcoin's web site.

but against all odds, they end up getting back the money, seems a heavy build work website to me, i like it, rather than bittrex, probably made out of bootstrap, it remembers me the crappy cryptsy exchanger anyway, you move them to your wallet and store them... nothing to care about the exchanger, probably price will drop way more in the next weeks or months, and more exchangers will end up adding it, no need to rush, i am at bitfinex and didn't buy, price is no sense in my opinion,

There's nothing stopping them, you, me or anyone else here from trading right here in the forums, or on a Google Sheets shared-access spreadsheet, or wherever else. If an exchange is a problem, you can always thread one yourself with 10 or 20 interested others. For example, we've done it with UNO in 2014 with 30-ish users and it worked perfectly, at a small scale. Obvs, this is for the exchange of bulk packets of coins and clearly is not for day trading type transactions, but the point is, no coin needs to be limited by whichever exchanges support it (notwithstanding the obvious factor of market depth and trading volume being necessary for any coin's longterm health). If there are a lot of people you know who want to buy IOTA, surely some sellers could be found even by offering x BTC for y mIOTA right here in the forums. Just a thought

To all those that think the price will drop in the few months so you wait to buy, your running the risk of being wrong and having to buy at a much higher price... IOTA is the future and I can see it skyrocketing in price very soon..

Genuine question guys, IOTA is being marketed as currency of Internet-of-Things. but as I understand it, it needs heavy processing to send transactions on the sender device. in IOTA FAQ it states expect 5-25 mins on a modern PC ! while most Internet-of-Things devices are very very weak compared to modern PCs. It seems to me, there is a problem here. What do u think ?
