did anyone calc how quick this might increase?

Yes. +75.4% in 10 years. In other words a device spending today 4 seconds will need to spend 7 seconds in 10 years (the same device).

oh w0w, thats very little increase, almost nothing

That's interesting. Since a change of MinWeightMagnitude wouldn't result in a 75.4% increase I suppose you're going to modify the hashing algo?

No need to do that.

No need to do that.

Does it have to do with bandwidth saturation in the future then? I don't see how that would increase PoW time though..

Just trying to figure out your hints.

so there is not any unit that allow a 1:1  equivalency to bitcoin right?
no unit assign this number   27 795 302

I think soon the coin will be placed on other exchanges. The volume of course plays a big role for exchanges to add a coin to themselves. We must wait!

Just came back to IOTA after seeing it ages ago and thinking it was an idea that wasn't going to take off, it does really have legs and it seems to be something very different to what we have at the moment.

Bitfinex is not the most user friendly exchange but it should be all about the tech and ensuring that the foundation is laid before rushing just to get a price increase.

you need to take amount of coins mined today, not final supply if you want to compare price. also there are lots of bitcouns lost or taken off the market indefinitely by long term investors. BTC is much more mature and widely distributed compared to iota. this can't be sped up, it will take years

Just trying to figure out your hints.

PoW grows if bandwidth is utilized completely. Bandwidth grows nearly as fast as computational power.

Ah, thank you. I think I got it now.
Once bandwidth is saturated, doing more PoW will make it more likely for your transaction to get referenced by others?

Yes, because more PoW = higher priority in propagation thru the network.
