The new wallet is really awesome. Iota is becoming my favorite project. So much potential. I read on twitter somebody saying this can become bigger than btc and it does look like it's possible with some many different usecases.

Yeah I also liked the new IOTA wallet. Better than this, the price of IOTA is still upwards while other altcoins are downwards today. Bitfinex platform has a great volüme of Exchange today for IOTA. Hope it exceeds $0.75 soon.

Thinking about grabbing some more one of these days

my next paycheck goes into IOTA

I've started thinking about it like this: think where Ethereum and Bitcoin are now, IOTA will be there in a few years easily  (maybe sooner) so as long as IOTA's market cap is under 5-10 bln I consider it still a good entry point from that long term perspective.

And I think we all know that the whole crypto space will grow much much more and it could happen very quickly.

Sooner or later IOTA's team approach of adoption will pay off and all the skeptics will see that it really does work this tangle thing and than there's no scaling problems in IOTA which means no obstacles on the way to the moon Wink

How long it takes to see my balance after transition process ? Do i have to create new adresses like last time after the upgrade ?

When you read the instructions, you know everything.

I have read the instructions , from the blog post " Once you’ve done that, you will be preparing and making the transaction which involves doing the Proof of Work. After that is completed, you can now login with your new seed and your balance will most likely be confirmed within a few minutes." I've done the process almost half hour ago and still see zero balance , is it normal ?

Go to "History" in the wallet. You should see your balance as "pending". Click "show bundle" -> "reattach". Wait for 30min and it should get confirmed (usually after 1-2min). If not, reattach agsin.

Left my wallet for almost an hour and no balance showed in that time . My son closed the wallet . i reopened it and still nothing shows up . The history is empty . I used my old seed and there's no balance in the old address , also no history there . Can someone give me a hand ?

Ok , it was my mistake with one character in password , everything's fine .

My transition transaction has been pending for 12 hours.  Tried rebroadcasting a couple times during the 12 hours.  Tried switching to a different light wallet server...still...pending...

You should do the reattach, not the rebroadcast. Do it in every 30 minutes. You will be fine.

Thanks for the reply! I've been doing both every time I try it.  It'll show up as another transfer in my history, but they all say pending.  When I have more time, I'll probably just try a reattach and rebroadcast every 30 min on a different server each time.  Eventually I should find one that works...maybe...

I don't know guys but I don't see any difference in the new wallet.
compared to the byteball wallet the IOTA wallet is slow as a turtle and all this pending and not sending out balances is really annoying.

can we see any improvement in send iota? it takes ages until it is send out, than 80% of the time it goes in the pending state and you have to retangle and rebroad cast it countless times.

that is really annoying and a couple of friends moved huge amounts of iota to bitfinex because they dont want to deal with that wallet. (but I rather have my iota on my iota wallett not on an excchange which had been hacked)

In progress: https://medium.com/iota-ucl/iota-wallet-refresh-onboarding-2f5ccd5e467a

Light wallet can be laggy if the host is busy with requests from others.
I run a full node and >90% of my transactions get confirmed within 1-2 minutes.

How is an apple better than a pear?

With good research a few weeks ago you would not ask why NEO is in the top ten. And NEO is also not on many exchanges so far...

Both coins are great and will stay in top 10.

And the market cap is similar by the way.

Hi guys,

2 questions;

1. What's the recommended approach to purchasing IOTA? (would anybody have a how-to guide or something..?)

2. If I download the software from Github I run into the following message on my Mac: "IOTA Wallet” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." Is that normal?

Best way to buy IOTA is to send BTC to bitfinex, buy it and withdraw it to the new light wallet. The guide that they posted recently on medium is really useful.

1. you should buy some BTC and then transfer it to bitfinex .. here you can buy the iota for BTC.

2. This is normal, you should go to your system preferences, click security and privacy (and on the bottom you will be able to click to open IOTA)
