Kuminga averages just 12.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Although he is still early in his career and has likely not yet reached his prime, his current stats make this contract quite reasonable. In cases like this, players are better off not being greedy; otherwise, they might end up with a minimum contract, or none at all.
It might be that they are testing his potential as to what the picture will be with him and Anthony Edwards. Yes he just average 12.2 ppg because he was not given enough playing time by the Atlanta Hawks as they have a lot of players with similar position.

And now that Naz Reid has been traded, perhaps the Timberwolves needs another scorer and they think that Kuminga could be that guy. He is still sharpening his skills and could still has a lot of potential and bright future ahead with the Timberwolves here.
Kuminga can go off. He has hit 30 points in a few games while not being a teams number 1, that's hard to do when you're not the primary scorer on a team and basically a role player.

They give him enough opportunities and he can deliver. I'd like to see Edwards get deep in the playoffs this year personally, this may be the piece that he needs to get him there.
Right, maybe it will be like a Jaylen Brown-Jayson Tatum combination that we might see between the two. I think Edwards is better complimented with another athletic and high flyer like Kuminga. We have seen him with KAT and Randle, but it seems there is something off with that kind of combo.

So let's see if we are right that Kuminga might be the man that they are waiting for ANT and they will have a deep run in the playoff. For sure ANT can carry the Wolves again, but with another help coming, it will make his lives easier.

We have another Dennis Schroder and that's Jonathan Kuminga. He was offered before by the Golden State Warriors with $30M to $35M per year contract extension for 2 years yet, he wants a max of it and declined that offer.

And right now, he has accepted the 2-year deal from the Timberwolves for $13M roughly $7.5M.

These days never learn, yes they know they have the value but if they're not up the same treatment as the superstars they should accept what's being offered to them already.

Maybe Miami needs a good guard, but they can't afford the caliber of Kyrie for now. And if ever they want to pursue him, then it will take a lot of great players in their roster. For now they look good in paper already. It's just a matter of execution and Miami has a lot of history of making a average team better, what's more with superstars like Giannis, Bam and Klay with them.
Not possible, Kyrie is making around $39M this season if I’m not mistaken, while the Heat only have around $10M of breathing room...
That's right. Irving will earn $39 million with the Mavs next season. It's also worth noting that his current contract with the Mavs includes a player option worth $42 million for the 2027-28 season, which I don't think he'll pass up. So the possibility that the Mavs might suddenly trade Irving to the Heat or any other team really does seem unlikely.
Yeah, Irving is already 34, he’s coming back from a serious ACL injury, and Dallas is gradually building its future around Cooper Flagg. In case even NBA has brought up Irving as someone who could potentially be traded if the Mavericks feel he no longer fits their long-term plans.
As for a possible move to Miami, it really depends on how well Kyrie comes back from his injury and what kind of package the Heat can put together. There’s really no reason for Dallas to trade him just for the sake of it.
And  if Kyrie comes back anywhere close to his previous level, he could be much more valuable to Dallas alongside Flagg than whatever package of assets they could get for a 34-year-old player with that kind of contract.

So I’d say a trade maybe is possible, but at this point, keeping him in Dallas looks like the more logical scenario. But if the season goes badly for the Mavericks, the trade talks around Irving could definitely become much more serious as the trade deadline gets closer.

It will be very hard for Kuminga to increase his worth on Twolves considering they already have Edwards and Ball as their main guy but still he has playing time here compared on GSW which Kerr doesn’t include him on main rotation.

It’s still not over for him since this is just the beginning on how he can showcase his skills. Who knows how he will perform once 1 of the 2 guy I mentioned got injured.

But yeah, it’s sucks to see all the offers he rejected while other players are very eager to receive that kind of offer.

But if he will in the starting five, then maybe he can short his worth with the Wolves.

I do agree though that he really missed that big money and opportunity from the Warriors when he was offered a big contract. But he decided to bet on himself and now he is with the Wolves with less money. However, if he can go and average like 20 points and be a vital part of their core, then maybe his bet on himself might pay big dividends if the Wolves are going to make him a offer he can't refused.

Actually it depends on how he perform, Kuminga have much bigger role now in Wolves, so he had lots of time to prove his worth. If he struggle then that's not going to help his career, since maybe he might be thrown out again and got much lesser contract on another team.

I don't wish for any one of their best guy to get injured, because if it happens their overall campaign will get affected. Many teams won't provably see his value and they might be tag as a losers.

If he can play more games then maintain or surpass this stats he made on Warriors https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/jonathan-kuminga-stats-with-warriors maybe lots of team will offer him those contract that he want.

This is provably a make a break season for him, so let's watch how he perform in his new team.
